Mine arrived in early April and has neither of the issues that you describe. I’d contact support. It’s possible that it wasn’t assembled correctly.

I feel this in my soul. If I can tell that it’s AI, I give them a zero on the assignment. If it’s a first offense, I give them the chance to resubmit something they wrote themselves. If it happened previously, it’s a zero.

In my class, it has been super obvious. But I also am planning to overhaul some of my assignments in the fall.

Not where I live. That’s the standard rate for a semester long 3cr course.

It’s not about you. Sounds like she’s got some imposter syndrome going on or maybe she’s having issues being taken seriously in her home department or classroom or lab or whatever. But I would call her what she asked to be called and not give it another thought. It’s not worth the mental real estate to give it further thought.

Probably. Look at those pink toes! 🥰

There’s something about the current crop of students. I’ve been teaching for over 20 yrs, and this year I have had multiple students just not turn in major assignments. I have messaged them on canvas, emailed them, submitted alerts. . . I have been as clear as I know how. Nothing mattered.

All of this to say, it’s not you.

I have two shar-pei mixes. There’s wrinkle-dog in there somewhere! Their Dorito ears are the best! I’d guess lab/retriever and maybe some pit.

🥰

Tenured prof & admin at a tuition-driven SLAC. We have grad programs (EdD & MEd primarily), but they’re in another division, so while I teach a few grad students every year, they are outliers.

Yes! Also Cabin at the End of the World. I still think about that novel from time to time.

welp—i thought that it was at 9 tonight so I missed the voting entirely.

Welp. That was Gwen last season (sitting in a chair doing nothing).

Kirsten’s new 5 min stretch (5/14/24) cut out on me twice this morning at almost exactly halfway through. The first time, I started over. The second time I was able to resume and make it through, but man, it was really annoying to see the screen go black not once but twice!

I had a different knee situation in the summer of 2022. When I could finally bend my knee enough to go all the way around the pedal stroke, I started with the 5 minute warm up and cool downs (and just didn’t pay attention to the instructions). Then I did a lot of low impact classes. I started with the extra 10 classes and went from there to 15 minutes, then 20, etc. I did some regular classes too and just didn’t follow the call outs, but low impact was my preferred route to get back into cardio.

I’d ask for 57 but be happy with 55. That’s pretty standard for my institution which sounds like a similar place but in a different region (that is also not super high on most people’s list)

Chow mix of some kind. What a handsome boy!

If grades were due Monday (yesterday?), there’s a decent chance that your professor hit the submit button and walked away from the computer for a little while. If it’s been 24 hours, I would email again and cc the department chair. If you don’t hear back from someone in another 24 hours, I would email the chair again and see if you can meet with them.

If the exam is gone, I’m not sure what they’ll do. They might ask you to retake it or turn in an alternate assignment. Hard to say, but I hope that they’ll be able to resolve it.

Good luck!

I think the percentage is going to be higher in places like NYC, Boston, Chicago. It is much lower where I am, in no small part because the pool of available labor is very limited.

I have ruined AirPods with sweat. I use Jaybird Vistas. They take all of the sweat and rain that I can throw at them and keep going.

Covert Affairs is a bit campier, but it was fun. The Americans is more serious/-also very good.

I also really liked Spooks/MI-5 which is streaming on Amazon. It’s also more serious.

I liked her best of the four, but I missed the vote.
