Yeah, if you did it all yourself that is big money! That said, networked energy systems that utilize a large ambient fluid loop with shared geothermal bore fields done at a utility scale can bring costs way down and make heating/cooling very efficient and cost effective. Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction has been pioneering this kind of system with incredible results.
