Albertans when somebody doesn't support the oil industry.
Same, my grandma at 86 still travels, but the nature of those trips has changed a lot. She doesn't do Europe or other long flights anymore, they're just too much for her, but she does a ton of road trips both locally and occasionally to Florida (which, from Newfoundland, is a hell of a long haul).
Most times when I talk to her she's planning to go somewhere, even if it's just to another town for a couple nights.
10% is quite high for a battle but can vary a lot depending where you're looking on the battlefield itself. That reserve battalion that doesn't get called in may suffer almost none, the centre front line, however, is often a lot higher.
Most casualties in this period were typically non-combat related, with sickness being the leading cause.
Agreed, I'm seeing a lot more of them around, often with people wearing their work clothes riding them.
A lot of people I know who bike to work have to change when they get to the office, but ebikes are really making the logistics of biking to work easier.
Have a libra colour (the new version of the 2), with a compatible stylus the writing features work pretty well. I have terrible cursive writing and it's able to accurately convert ~80% of my writing to text. You can sync notebooks on dropbox or Google drive as well. It has solid annotation and highlight features for books with an easy lookup tool.
As a journal replacement, not sure. I definitely prefer writing on paper for longer entries and I find my hand getting tired faster on the Kobo than paper, but for shorter notes and annotations it works great.
I've only had it for about 2 months now, some can't comment much on it from a bifl perspective, but it feels pretty solid and have had no issues.
To add to this, check the grading around your house, make sure the ground slopes away and you don't get water pooling by the foundation. This will help prevent water from leaking in.
Basements flooding are probably the most common major house damage from hurricanes in NS, and we get enough rain year-round to make drainage a priority.
Clean design, the buttons had a real satisfying feel. Sony has fallen a bit since, but stylistically they were incredibly influential from the 80's to early-00's.
Not too dissimilar to how Apple defines a lot of tech design today.
I like heros and secret societies as an option, but yeah, they should never be a default.
Weirdly the societies system could work better as an approach to government types than the current system. Choosing a path early on and unlocking options as you go makes more sense than the current approach of being able to swap between radically different government types with no real consequences.
Agreed, the inner thoughts gave the book a whole 'let's redo the Martian, but this time he's saving humanity' vibe.
It was fun overall, Rocky was the MVP, and I think it'll make a fun movie, but at the end of the day it was dragged down by the main character.
Quebec is officially unilingual, with a lot of government services, businesses and organizations operating in French.
English is very common, official Stats show a 46.4% English-French bilingual rate in Quebec in 2021, but functionally a lot more can get along in English to some degree.
In Canada the same often works for choosing the French line.
A lot of the French language call centres are in New Brunswick, the only true bilingual province.
He reacts to food, warmth and pets, so passes the bare minimum threshold.
They've been upgraded pretty much constantly, and while they're not state of the art anymore, they are still considered very capable and are in high demand from a lot of countries.
They're currently the most numerous aircraft in the US Air Forces' inventory, with over 700 in service.
Hyperspace is a fourth dimension, more of a different, more mathematical, way of interacting with the universe. Quite different from the Warp, which is more of a psychic creation. Minds exist across multiple dimensions at once, with a physical aspect in the 3 we're familiar with but most of the actual 'thinking' happening in hyperspace.
It would be interesting to have more powerful/customizable districts but with fewer allowed per city to encourage specialization. Or maybe make some districts exclusive of others, like you can't have an encampment and a theatre square in the same city or something. Right now it's pretty easy to have a city with as many districts as you'd like.
Agreed, I have little doubt it's going to be great in a lot of ways, but critical assessments are far more interesting, and often informative.
Eurogamer's criticism around explicit storytelling is a good example of this, for a game so focused on setting tone and letting players learn the world themselves, the expansion could be a jarring shift (I've stayed away from anything spoliery, so not sure how much a surprise that is).
Probably had more to do with being a new grad looking for work during COVID....
The connection between the two is just an urban legend, but there were some old service tunnels under Herdman (now CBRH), accessible in the library.
They were very solid homes too, it's not uncommon to find them in older neighborhoods.
You're assuming a lot of competence and coordination here for what amounts to a very minor thing. Chances are the database just saw you had a registered uninsured vehicle, which triggered an alert, and they sent you the mail to bring it into compliance. Same thing you would encounter if you went to the desk at the DMV, just there you can explain what you're doing with the vehicle and insurance.
Since you're switching vehicles insured with some frequency, it just creates more opportunities for an entry to be messed up.
Any data analysis the government is doing is at a very high aggregate level, with personal identifiers stripped out.
Get out there and enjoy it, it doesn't last forever. I did a lot of hiking, visiting friends and family, and generally just relaxing. Jobs/family/etc. will eventually eat up that time.
Something like Stellaris' Branch Offices could make an interesting way to build in economic influence as a victory path.
The real war room was the crying pool we bought along the way.
