State of the aviation industry. Boeing delaying production of Max lines and delivery under FAA scrutiny, leading to mismatch supply (airplanes to fly, to a minor degree). Spirit Airlines furloughing over 200 pilots. Summer travel.
I’m not up to the level of ownership yet, but 182RG/177RG look well suited to the family traveler mission.
As mentioned, 210 would be amazing if they were more readily available and “affordable”.
Bonanza seems like a dream, but something about the perception of safety and platform stability of a Cessna keeps me intrigued.

Make sure you get an iPad with Cellular. But you don’t need a plan for it. Cellular is GPS enabled. Will make life much easier than needing auxiliary devices so you can actually track your location in flight.
My overall recommendation, get an iPad mini 6 used, with cellular (for the GPS).

I figured as much. Alternator or alternator pulley seizure or failure was my thought. I’ve had it happen enough times on cars with belts in otherwise perfect condition.
