My fav short trails are sun mountain, sun and moon saddle, Dorothy Stewart trail. My absolute fav hike is borrego bear wallow loop up the mountain. You might be able to drive up and do it in 3 hours, but maybe a little longer. Tesuque creek is nice too. Go to rei and grab the day hikes in Santa Fe guide for info on the hikes

In the geirangerfjord area I think juvet landscape hotel would be a good option for you. If you saw the movie deus ex machina, it was filmed there. Also check out hotel Union oye. Not sure it has a spa but it’s a gorgeous R&C property.

Near sognefjord check out 29.2 aurland. Don’t think they have a spa but maybe pair it with a reservation in the floating fjord sauna in aurland.

I think this may be the first Norway post on the sub! I’m currently planning a trip there and eager to see others suggestions.

Used this too. I think my last run was at 36w pregnant or so.

This is awesome! We read the book pacita the pacifier fairy and after a few weeks of build up it worked for us. We’ve been hyping the diaper toilet fairy lately. 🤞

Barbs BQ in Lockhart has a vegan sandwich now! I haven’t gotten to try it yet. But if y’all are up for a day trip out of town it’s supposed to be amazing.

If op goes to spicy boys at st Elmo’s there’s also patty palace right there with vegan and omnivore options.

I don’t have a good answer but I’ve been dealing with this lately making my own bookings. I have emailed a lot of the hotels directly to inquire and they’ve been very helpful. I prefer to book directly (and my understanding is hotels prefer it too) but I have found booking dot com to have clearer policies around children for the same hotels.

White linen is very in so if that’s your vibe could try basically anywhere. Gap on north Lamar had a bunch of cute options and actually Abercrombie has great linen and dress options these days. Could also try Shopbop — they have two day shipping and free returns.

And congratulations!!

This jogged a random memory for me — it’s really not responsive to your request but we met a family a couple of months ago when we were traveling that raves about The Tyler Place Family Resort. It’s in Vermont so NOT the American west but it does have mountains and different from South Florida for sure. If you’re having a hard time finding the right fit and family activities look appealing there it does seem interesting. I have not been, just checked it out online after they spent a long time telling us about it. (It was the grandparents of several adult siblings who go with their kids).

I’m the wife haha. We love casa de Luz but haven’t been since I’ve been on soft foods. That’s a good suggestion, we’ll head there soon.

Omg I always hold out hope she’s ventured somewhere else. Matt’s el rancho every freaking time!! (Unless it’s commodore Perry haha)

How is the comfort level on the vejas?

This was a great read. So sad but so well done. It’s stayed with me a long time.

Bar at lenoir. Service is so good there they’ll chat with you if you’re into that. The wine garden is beautiful too if weather permits.

Dang I love the look of some of these but idk if I can bring myself to buy from life is good haha. Do you have any?!

Forever mushy food apparently as my dental drama continues. My Mother’s Day brunch reservation had to be canceled but I learned I can eat biscuits and gravy so it wasn’t all bad.

  • mashed potatoes and gravy, impossible meat patties for those who can chew
  • tarka dal with rice
  • Thai curry with rice
  • pasta and marinara with impossible crumbles
  • tofu scramble rancheros
  • congee

Love recycled reads. Not sure a Visitor would want to do this but most of the libraries have a mini Recycled reads/book sale and are less likely to be culled library books. The howson branch one is great

I know there are more than twelve but to me they bring to mind a clock

Lots of great recs here. Bouldin creek cafe, nori, and some non vegan places with great options for vegans like asters (Ethiopian) and titayas (Thai food). I haven’t yet tried it but Fabrik is a newish high end vegan spot that has great buzz.
