I get it's hard to do a big step like this and go to a meetup alone. Can I suggest talking to one of your existing friends and ask them to come to one with you? Choose one that's interesting to you and go with someone you already know. Then, you will know what's happening on the meetup and you can repeat it alone. Just an idea from someone who struggles to start things on their own.

We don't even have to go 10 years back. Until 2019 it was about 35 to 40 euros for the longest routes (eg Athens to Santorini or Mykonos). Then, after covid, prices started slightly increasing in 2021, but the big jump was in 2022. Now prices are double in less than 4 years.

At first it was covid, fuel cost for ferries etc, but these have gone down now (at least for the ferries). Two other issues are the taxes:you pay 24% tax included in the ticket (it didn't use to be that high) and then there are not many ferry companies so there is some kind of monopoly.

One thing you can do, is check for flights to the island you're going to. Sometimes they're cheaper. However, keep in mind that it's not unusual for flights to get cancelled if there are high winds on the islands.

If you're talking about hopping into smaller islands, you're best bet is to arrive on the island and ask around for prices at the port where the agencies are.

No tips or tricks really. Ferryhopper is the scanner for ferries. The slower ferries are usually cheaper... and slower. Locals don't do it often, the prices are too high for them.

You can check out Freemount, and their sister bar Wayfarer in NQ. They have live music with different singers often so I'd try to check that. You can also search for open mic nights, a lot of bars/pubs do it so you could start building a network there. Have a search in Google and you'll find plenty

Shops will be open 9am to 9pm until Thursday. Friday they will open 1pm to 7pm Saturday 10am to 4pm.

They will be busier as people would be buying last minute things for Easter. Good Friday is usually more quiet day and there are processions of the Epitaph around each church's neighbourhood in the evening.

You will find places to eat for sure, but expect a lot to close especially after Thursday.

It depends. In many airlines you can check in separately, so you can enter different passports. That's what I've been doing until now. However, one airline (Jet2) doesn't allow me to check in individually for the flights so now I'm unsure what to do and looked at this thread. I might add my British passport to both flights.

I thought you'd always have to declare the entry passport when booking tickets. So outwards eu flight - > eu passport on airline ticket, return uk flight - > uk passport on airline ticket. Did you have any issue with it?
