this is exactly how i handle my day to days. like i want it to be up to my chef’s and my standards but if at the end of the day if it’s not i need to remind myself “it’s just bread i shouldn’t be crying over this”

ah okay! no worries about it i just re read my response and i was like “i don’t think i’m being shameful?” but now i getcha, i haven’t read a lot of the comments in fear of that lol. peace and love! have a good day/night!

i didn’t mean for it to come off as rude or shameful, it was genuinely something i didn’t understand why as i’m the only trans person in my circle that i know so i don’t get to hear others perspectives. now knowing how other people see it it makes sense to me, i didn’t mean for that to sound the way it came off as

as a trans person i don’t understand why people don’t because 1. everyone has a preference even outside of gender identity 2. it covers a difficult topic off the get go

you’d be surprised, we had a girl told to use the mixer, she put everything in the bowl as needed but didn’t put a attachment on it and somehow expected it to mix

i’m okay thankfully! cars are built to protect us and mine did, i hope you’re okay as well. this same time last year i got in my first incident of a car hitting me while i was parked in a parking lot, so i feel you on that

i hit a deer this morning, i wish i had the outcome you did

oh i’m 1000% keeping the can

straight up just call him a p*do, gets them to shut up and if it continues threaten with authorities

i texted my sister about an hour into my 12 and told her to have some ciders in our fridge when i got home. she asked if she should pick up more for me and all i said was “please”

i’m pastry so this differs from normal culinary but i got a lot of use out of it. if you have genuinely no clue what you’re doing and no background in the industry before it, it’s pretty useful. the school that i went to i was very strongly classically trained and it’s helped me grasp concepts that bleed into other things that i didn’t learn at school. it’s also helped me improve/teach my current coworkers and improve our production. i’m currently in my internship (my last term of my degree) which i’ve heard that a decent amount of schools also do and it helps get your foot in the door right before you graduate and if it goes well, secures you with a job.

of course! best of luck and have fun!!

i found it at woodmans but that’s a only south wisconsin/northern illinois grocer :( i have no clue where else, that’s the only place i’ve seen it so far

not the asshole imo. when it comes to people learning things because a lot of them take time to grasp but if he’s unwilling to adapt to how your kitchen runs things or learn in general, he’s not going to get far. if he’s pulling shit with how early on it seems like he is, he does need a stern talking to because not only does it reflect you poorly if word going around is that you did it but also because he will continue to do stuff like that

i don’t know if this is a culinary school person thing but i’ve never worn my uniform outside of where i work. i think any time it’s 1. getting the clothes more dirty 2. if they are visibly dirty i feel like i look unprofessional and 3. i feel gross after working a shift and i want to change immediately afterwords

i did that with my middle name!

i originally just wanted to keep the same initials and had no real reason behind the name but now i tacked on my “supposed to be” male name that my parents wanted to my chosen first name and my dads first name to my chosen middle name (tradition in my family is that your fathers first name is your middle name and he’s become super supportive throughout my journey)

“yeah ur taste makes me laugh” has the same tone as “oh you’re wearing (insert band name) t-shirt? name 5 of their songs”. bullet dodged, just because someone likes bigger bands that doesn’t warrant getting shit on (this is also coming from someone who loves slipknot)
