I would suggest just doing some shorter hikes in the presidential range. Jefferson Adams Madison or Monroe Washington for example. Or the Franconia ridge traverse from flume to Lafayette. A twins galehead garfield traverse would be great too.

Parker, Resolution, Stairs, Crawford traverse 5/25

I hiked a traverse through the presidential range dry river wilderness yesterday reaching the 52 with a view peaks Parker, Resolution, Stairs, and Crawford. We started from Cobb farm road and ended at route 302. The trails were in great shape with no snow and little mud. We had amazing views from every summit and several open ledges between summits. We didn't encounter many people for a holiday weekend.

The Owl is pretty amazing. Its off the hunt trail. Theres a 360 views and alot of cliffs.

Im also seeing a million ads for data entry jobs that turn out to be a focus group once you try to apply for them.

If you go into the Achilles chat there’s a message saying they’re light on work for that project. It’s happening to everyone.

My favorite way is up the carter ledges and down piper. The carter ledges get a little scary btw.

That gas station next to starr king road has really good pizza. I always go there after hiking waumbek.

The roads to the trails are terrible. Caribou pond and rapid stream roads for example are the worst.

Check the Randolph mountain clubs Facebook on a Friday for a report on conditions in the northern presidentials.

Sounds like you haven’t listened to much new metal.

Gatecreeper aren’t just a gothenburg copycat though there’s a lot of entombed and dismember influence here too.

I spent 8 hours with 6.5 hours of moving time.

Moat range 5/17

Last friday I hiked the moat range. I started from diana's baths, went up the moat mountain trail to the north peak, out and back to the south peak, and down red ridge. The trails were in great shape. They were mostly dry with a few muddy area. No snow or ice. There were only a few other people out. The red ridge trail were really nice with alot of open ledges. It was a great day.

I have a fwd car. I hike in every season and have never had any issues really. Theres some roads like success pond road that should be avoided but those are rare. I end up finding someone else to drive me down those roads. If youre hiking in maine then thats a totally different story.

Pawtuckaway state park is pretty close

No those would be useless

Liberty, Flume 5/11

Last saturday I hiked Liberty and Flume via the Osseo trail. I didn't run into any snow until above the ladder section and then there was a stable monorail between summits. It was a nice overcast day with no wind. I ran into a group of kids on flume throwing cigarettes on the ground that I think were the ones that got rescued from the flume slide. I gridded out may on Liberty.

It’s pretty easy to just google their name and find their website. Seems like it’s only seasonal work dec to April.

Sounds like you have a lot of research to do before attempting Washington again.

It highly depends on which way you’re going. The slides are probably melted but very wet and slippery. Pine bend likely still has a monorail higher up and many large water crossings.

Mount Moriah (5/7)

I hiked up Stony brook. This turned out to be a bad idea as water crossings were very high and there was alot of unstable snow. The postholing was so bad that I decided to go down carter moriah and do a roadwalk back to my car. CM was in much better shape with a stable monorail that was mostly supportive.

Well don’t go that way. There’s still some winter left. Maybe Take amonoosuc ravine and jewell instead. Conditions anywhere above 3000 feet are very bad with rotting snow, high water levels etc.
