the cane and pineapple cos had their own heavy machinery to cut breaks and fight fires. MFD got too used to the help, and didnt replace any of that equipment or capability when they left the islands, so now we have far fewer water trucks and bulldozers at our disposal.

Edit; HPD - MFD

bullshit. I learned from history, and im right here stuck in this loop with all the fucking morons who didn't. "Learn from history and forever be embittered toward your fellow man.", is more like it.

no i am not.

Asimov wrote the Three Laws of Robotics

  1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
  2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
  3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Clarkes Laws are different.

  1. When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.

  2. The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.

  3. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

huh.

I have read most of his work, and am familiar with his laws, I do not recall ever having read this alteration of the third law though.

My version of it has always been "At some point stupidity becomes indistinguishable from malice." so i dont think mine flows from altering Clarkes third law.

i need to know who Clarke is and when he first said this as it has been my go to response to hanlons razor since i was like 15, phrased slightly differently, but same same.

shit look how far an RV gets you. 22 mil seems like an overspend to me

maybe, but i have serious doubts. dont get me wrong, Stricklands defense is probably the best in the UFC, but his overall offense is slow and pretty limited, its just presuring, and relentless. I think Bobby can handle the pressure and put out enough offense that Sean will be forced to fight on his heels at least some of the time, which is what no one has been able to do very well since the Adesanya win. While I do think Dricus technically won their fight, it was narrow as fuck, and personally i don't think he did enough to have been awarded that win ~in a chamionship fight~ I still think you gotta beat the champ to be the champ is a valid stance.

Crossover XVR

their crossover XVR was underrated in my opinion, my only complaint was it was a little heavy, which i actually grew to like over time. i think if they could have knocked the price down a touch, not released the cronus, and stuck with it i think fields would have adopted it. It would have been a pretty decent early experience compared to most other field rental guns.

yay we all get $3!

meanwhile "Lawyers rake in largest ever fees paid to a lawfirm for a class action suit in US history."

reality: thing exists for decades

Internet: "WHAAARRRRGAAAAARRRBBLLEEEE!"

It's a badly named split plate fee for extra setting, the labor associated with that extra setting, and possibly the act of actually splitting the meal for you before it is served.

It has existed (in the US) since long before I became a chef, (30 yrs ago) and is fairly common, though not often enumerated on menu, as it is usualy explained by the server when a split plate is asked for, which is far less common than you think.

Usually anywhere from 3-5 dollars.

The fact that you have never seen it is irrelevant, it has most likely existed longer than you have been alive.

her stance was the board and shareholders misunderstood their proposal, and she wanted to clear that up, she said they made no suggestions as to actions regarding the board, they simply felt they did not have enough information on the board regarding ethnicity, gender and skillset to feel well informed.

to which i ask

"If for any reason you do not feel you have enough information to invest safely, why do you not divest?"

"Do you consider it responsible to invest peoples pensions in positions you do not feel well informed about?"

they announced at the beginning that recordings and livestreams were prohibited, so i doubt youll see one on here.
