Thanks for the mousse tip! Regarding the shampoo, I use it only like 2-3x a month to remove buildup and it works for me. The products I use besides the mousse daily are CGM approved. Regardless, my hair has improved and I’m not too concerned about following it to a T. I’m also poor so I can’t spend a lot of money each month on hair products.

Here is my routine with products:

My hair is thick and on the finer side, 2b/c wavy

Shampoo a handful of times a month using Suave Everyday Clarifying shampoo, $1

Cowash a few times a week using Suave Tropical Coconut conditioner, $1

Condition with same as above ^ Fully saturate my hair, comb through, rinse most of it out.

When hair is soaking wet, I use the "praying hands" technique to apply a mousse and the (Salon Selectives from Dollar Tree, I don't actually know if it's Curly Girl approved but it keeps the frizz down really well) Scrunch using microfiber towel and plop while I'm getting dressed.

Scrunch in a generous amount of Not Your Mother's Curl Talk gel, $8 and define curls by twisting small sections with my fingers. I let the gel sit WITHOUT TOUCHING and either air dry or blow dry using a diffuser, once mostly dry I lightly scrunch to soften the cast of the gel.

PS it seems like no matter what I do, the back of my hair is never as defined/wavy as the front. Any tips for this issue?? I have long hair and I don't want to cut it short right now.
