Stats on their own are utterly meaningless, and require external analysis to determine their meaning. You can make any set of stats mean whatever you want if you frame them correctly. If the stats show that a team SHOULD have won the league, but their final position in the table is not at the top of the league, then those stats don’t mean much. I’m not saying statistics can’t help to inform decision making, just that they’re worthless when you’re talking about whether a team should have won the league or not.

This distinction doesn’t seem to change the conclusions we have been drawing. That said, it seems to be tenuous whether the translation is in fact wrong

Yeah they came second, which is really good. You are absolutely correct about everything here I would say. What city has over either of our clubs is sustained infrastructure development. They have the best sustaining force in world football in their ownership/management. I would say Arsenal fans should be proud of their season. You’re missing the part about how stats mean nothing. It’s great that you were one of the best teams in the league, and that’s absolutely something to be proud of. But, when you’re talking about the league title, the only thing that matters is points totals. Arsenal were close. They could have scored 10,000 goals and conceded 5, with 90% possession in every game, but if they won fewer points than another team, they don’t win. It’s just a useless statement by Arteta or Mourinho or Ten Hag. They love to say “we did well and should have won the league.” By that logic, Liverpool was at the top of the league for the longest period of time, so they should have won the league over Arsenal but they had a few things they didn’t manage as well as #1 and #2

They would be best served hiring Ubisoft or someone who is used to putting out large projects quickly with decent quality. They would lose a lot of goodwill, but I imagine that would be their best bang for buck in terms of making money
