Why is Mediterranean food so expensive?

Mediterranean food has to be in my top 3. Delicious and on the healthier side. But why is it so expensive? The average chicken shawarma plate I can find is anywhere is from $17-20+. I know eating anywhere is expensive these days but it just feels out of reach for sides that consists of rice, tabula, and hummus? I know fresh ingredients cost but it just seems inflated compared to Mexican restaurants that also carry fresh ingredients. Thoughts? Am I totally wrong here? lol

Also, with all this said.. if anyone has any good priced, good quality Mediterranean food spots let ya girl know! :p

Combining finances after marriage Other

Hello! My hubby and I got married this year. We have decided to combine our finances with full transparency to each others financial info for ease of managing and planning. Forgive me if anything is stated incorrect in this post as we are navigating these waters and learning as we go. I added him to my Chase checking account. All of our credit cards are linked to this checking account. I have a Chase Freedom and Freedom Unlimited card. He has a Chase United Explorer MileagePlus card. We both log into our own Chase accounts to review and pay out credit cards each month. Is there a way to have all this info in one place together when we log onto our Chase account? Do we have to have two separate accounts or can we just have one log in? We ideally want everything to be shared so this separation of info isn’t helpful.

From the research I have done it seems you can add an authorizer to a credit card but I’m not sure if this would solve our issue of wanting it all in one place? Thanks for any recommendations!

Same!!! I guess it’s fair to say everyone loves a good scandal! (A lot of these however are very very sad).

Wow! Great mention.. this was a fascinating article!

San Diego Scandals

I want to hear about some San Diego Scandals old and new! What comes to mind for me is the owner of the restaurant Breakfast Bitch stealing over $1M when she was a personal assistant of an NBA player or the Mayor of San Diego taking bribes to hike taxi cab prices in the 60s… I want to hear it all!!

Hello, I work in mental health. I recommend calling and going to a county mental health walk in clinic. Your walk in appointment is considered your intake and can take up to 3 hours so come prepared with a snack and ID. From here you will be connected to psychiatric and therapy services based on your needs. It is first come first serve so go early. I would call the clinic before hand to talk to a staff member to be sure you are prepared.

You can visit this link to find a clinic most convenient to you.

The mental health system is hard to navigate but I’m so glad your turning to support. The support is there and there are people who want to help you!

You can also call the San Diego Access & Crisis line 24/7 at 888-724-7240 to speak to a mental health professional or call 988 24/7 (suicide and crisis line).

I truly wish you the best!

Back in 2018 in this neighborhood I witnessed a decapitated cat on the corner of a street. My memory is blurry bc I obviously blocked out the image but I remember it looking like it was placed in a sacrificed like position. Like on display. It was crazy… it was late at night and I was a alone (21f), ran to my car immediately…

Yesss I was going to suggest Wonderland also

Everyone loves talking about bending over here 😂

Kinda prices I’d expect at Wholefoods.. but $9 would still be shocking there too haha

Lol yes but we’re talking about vegetables not a Lamborghini.

Oh yes… I’ve had many good times at Mavericks. Definitely would be a fun vibe. Thank you so much for your help! I emailed them, hopefully I will hear back soon 😊

Thank you so much for this response! Your input is really helpful to me and I’m sure to others following the thread too. Thanks for being open, aka “TMI” lol It’s hard to navigate honesty in this more private side of our profession with our colleagues due to fear or crossing workplace boundaries or professionalism. I think these conversations are so very important for our field and think it’s something I’ve seen that is lacking in my experience. You rock!

I’m so sorry this is your experience at where you work. I work inpatient psych and my coworkers are the only thing that make the intensity of the job somewhat bearable.. I know this wasn’t always the case even where I’m at.. hope your situation changes!

I love that this movie theater looks the same from when I was a kid over 20 years ago. So nostalgic I hope it never changes lol

Are you a part of the San Diego Mycological Association?! If not, you should be!

Wow $5?! Is this a lunch special?
