So I've recently had some very unpleasant conversations with our building department and in our discussions I decided to bring up the lack luster code enforcement at the new strip mall at Bella Vista and saginaw streets. The sidewalk has yet to be completed and backfilled, leaving a huge tripping hazard. The northern end of the parking lot has no fall protection, meaning there's no guard from the parking lot to street level, over 5'! And also there's no barricading in front the original building allowing anyone to just wander in. While I realize a lot of this falls on the owner and contractors, it's also up to the city and our officials to enforce the laws. This is unacceptable. If you notice Lurvey construction at both the new randy wise dealership and whatever is going on at physicians park, is gated, scrim is up, signage, everything. Those sites look good for construction sites. We should demand of our city and township officials (I use that term very loosely) to enforce all of the codes and be aware of all public safety. Look at the size of gbhs anymore, there are kids everywhere near that site, someone could easily be hurt due to city/ contractor negligence. Maybe contact useless Ted in the building department if you have time?

Thanks for reading my rant this long!
