My grandmother, who is older than a boomer, calls women "silly women" as a misogynistic insult.

Anouk Curl Studio in Scott Township on Greentree Road. I've always hated my curly hair until she cut it.

My easiest go-to is a bag of frozen, breaded chicken tenders in the air fryer and a bag of salad and a bottle of dressing. An easy, lower carb, veg-heavy meal with a protein.

I've been to the Skunk and Goat and love it, thanks for the rec! We're looking for something a bit more low-key if not divey this time. The Ruffed Grouse looks great, and I love poutine. This might be the place, thank you!

Saturday Afternoon in Northeast

I'll be in Northeast with a couple friends for an event on Saturday. We're looking for a good place to have lunch and drinks afterwords. We're not really wine people, so we're looking for a good beer or cocktail list. Thanks!

This is the town I grew up in, and it's a very hilly part of PA. We were always told while growing up that there were too many hills and mountains for tornadoes to form. I think his attitude is more disbelief and also not really knowing what to do when a tornado hits because we were always told it wasn't possible.

That's fair. I've never been and didn't know it was mostly cigars. I still think that's way too many coffee specific places in such a small area, especially the De Fer, Aslin, and Bitty triangle on the same intersection.

It's wild. Going the other way, you can count Coop de Ville and James Cafe too, just on Smallman.

It was the only iffy one on my list, but I included it as a breakfast-specific place. Which others wouldn't you count?

Same with so many coffee places between 19th and 21st, from Smallman to Penn. There are 5 - De Fer, Bitty and Beau, Aslin, Peace Love Little Donuts, and Allegheny Coffee and Tea. If you expand that to 22nd St and the next alley over from Penn, and there are 3 more- LA Prima, Leaf and Bean, and Novaria.

My kids are 10, and have always found Indiana Jones incredibly boring, and still can't get through the first part of The Goonies. They have really liked all the Muppet movies, the Addams Family movies from the 90s, and my daughter loved The Adventures of the Gummi Bears when she was 6.

This inspired me to try both places, thank you! I was happy to see three brothers has pork roll (even though they call it Taylor Ham, it's a north vs south jersey thing).

A bagel place. And if i can add more details, a divey, inexpensive bagel place that blends their own flavored cream cheese.

Yes, it looked like this is a new initiative. The cashier wouldn't give in and ring them. She made them do it themselves.

I've worked plenty of retail jobs. I clearly called them predatory and explained why. Sorry you didn't understand.

This pharmacy pays their cashiers an average of $10/hr in my area. They charge $11.49 for a covid test. For an hour of your time, before taxes, you can barely afford 80 store brand ibuprofen soft gels (a bottle is $9.49). These are predatory, low-paying jobs, and this country is wealthy enough for us all to be doing better than this. Spare me your bullshit.

Close! Born in 1980, so solidly Xennial. I'm a woman, so I'm sure she thought she had an ally in me in this.

Boomers vs. Self Checkouts, who will win?Boomer Story

For 2 days in a row, I had to go to my local chain pharmacy. They must have a new initiative to really push the self checkouts now, as the cashiers are standing in front of the desk to assist customers that need help.

Of course, as I go to the open self checkout, there's a boomer next to me declaring "Well this is my first time using this!" So the cashier comes over and is super nice, and says "Here, let me help you learn how." So of course, she has to repeat herself for the sake of everyone in the area "Well, you know, it's just my first time and I have no idea what to do." I roll my eyes to myself and send some mental T and P to the unfortunate souls who are on the schedule this week.

The next day, I need to return, and get in line for the self checkout. Another day, another boomer, making declarations to the store about self checkouts. Of course, today, this one has to involve me. So she goes straight to the cashier and tells her "I can't use this checkout." The same super nice cashier says "Here, let me help you learn how to use it." This boomer says "NO. I DIDNT COME HERE TO WORK," and then looks to me for support. I tell her "It's not hard." She is appalled at my opinion. She says "But I don't WANT to." And I say "I prefer it. It saves me time." And she yells "I DON'T WORK HERE!" I looked at her right in the eyes, with complete pity, and said "Dude, I don't know what to tell you," shrugged, and left.

The grossest part of the whole thing is the expectation of being served everywhere they go.

It's great for drafts, too. Last week, we ordered a Cinderlands and Four Points, and the total was $9.63. It's cheaper than the breweries.

I heard that the cliff behind it is crumbling and needs to be fixed before they can do anything with the building.

Thank you, I laughed at this, my kids were hoping for a meteor.

Cindy Song disappeared from the building next to mine at Penn State in 2001. Her purse and phone were in her apartment, no signs of struggle or anything.

How did the Pittsburgh Foodies group try to force posters to pay to play? How would you monetize a Facebook group?

When I was an exhausted parent of 2 year olds, I hated talking about house upgrades and vacation planning. It just felt like more on my to-do list. I couldn't get excited for that when I was barely making it through the day with the things already on my plate.
