Yeah I did them in one go without infinite ammo, I just did them on assisted. It was easy to avoid damage at the start but the farther in I just relied on the auto healing. (Edit, I also did it on NG+ with my unbreakable primal knife)

As soon as they start coming for Ashley take your rifle out and shoot heads only when they are walking. Save your shotgun ammo for the guys coming after you. If you have no rifle ammo I would still go for heads with the handgun because they really die fast. If they pick Ash up go for body shots or legs with the handgun. If you have grenades or flashbangs use them on the guys coming after you too. I have gone through the game 14 times now and this way works like a charm for me.
