NRSV is a great word for word translation to study with. I usually only stick to word for word translations. Not much on thought for thought.

It was written to Christians living in Rome. Rome was pagan in Belfast and practiced same sex relations. It was practiced among the emporium and elites, emperors, and citizens. Men with men and men even with younger men and boys. Women with women as well. Not poor translation. Just denial or biblical truth.

So do we throw out the first chapter of Romans? Considering it was rebuking their pagan beliefs and practices which same sex relations were practiced and even with young boys. Hmm.🤔 wonder why would that have been written if it was ok ?
I disagree and believe what Paul wrote was accurate to the time then and apply today.

It’s eternal but the torment is more knowledge of rejecting love. It’s separation from true love. That is tormenting enough emotionally. Gnashing of teeth is gritting your teeth in frustration. Weeping because you were selfish and rejected Jesus. Forever you will be in torment over it. It is eternal because the other side of it is eternal life.
