Well the Ortlieb gravel panniers, or the front rollers they are the same size.... Are 12.5L per bag..... So the tailfinn 16L version is enormous too, well maybe because the tailfinn marketing they are more bikepacking bags🤔
Wow, this is amazing! I would love to go bikepacking with a dog! Looks like the pup likes it😁.
I love the salsa exp anything cradle! Pretty much the best bag I've seen so far😁
Well maybe a nice and fast salsa mtb? I'll do have a surly karate monkey, also very nice on the trails! But not very fast for cross country racing.....
Hello fellow bikepackers!Tomorrow is finally the day - my first four-day solo bikepacking adventure through the beautiful German Eifel is on the agenda. I'm incredibly excited and ready to take on the challenge, but I must admit that I'm also a bit nervous.I'm quite familiar with camping and have plenty of experience with cycling, but being alone has always been a stumbling block for me. Although I love going solo, it's been a while since I've done anything longer than an overnighter alone. So, this will only be my second time embarking on such a journey by myself. All my gear is packed, and I'm ready to go, but I would love to hear some tips, encouragement, and experiences from you all! How do you best cope with being alone during such a longer journey? And are there any specific things I should be aware of while bikepacking in the Eifel?I'm incredibly grateful for any help I can get. Bring on the adventures!Thank you, and happy trails!Additionally, I've tackled a ten-day solo trip from Krakow to Budapest. However, I felt very lonely during that journey, which discouraged me from embarking on longer solo bikepacking trips for a while.
Yes, I've many times camped at the bivouac places, they are very nice, sometimes you'll have to make a reservation before you go to them. I appreciate it, because you know it won't be busy👍🏻.
Thank you very much, this gives me much more confidence while wild camping. Well i will probably just pitch my inner tent inside the shelter, also to keep my sleeping mat off the ground.
Hii, when are you going to ride in the Eifel? I'm Probably going to ride a gravel bikepacking route in the Eifel next week! If you want to, contact me! As far as i know it's not allowed to wild camp in Germany, but a bivak is allowed, someone told me mostly the tent is the problem. So if you're scared, just sleep in a shelter, that was my plan😉 Maybe if I find a nice spot, I will definitely pitch my tent😌
Well, over already done 325km in one day, from Maastricht to Groningen in one day. Yes it is possible, in my opinion everyone can do it, your fitness level isn't the main factor to ride such a long distance.... Its being used to cycling and being able to eat a LOT during cycling, getting used to sport foods like gels, energybars and isotonic drinks. If you can do 70km a day, you're definitely fit enough to ride 200 in a day trip!
How many hours I would ride in one day, well probably it would take about 17 of continuous Cycling!
70km day in dat out is a very nice travelpace! Ik currently training for a route from the Ardennes to Paris in one day, well that will be 370km🥱. Idk why I do like that🤔
Well, ik just building day trips, start/finish location is Rostock
Wow, I live in the Netherlands, and currently cycling in Rostock, what route are you riding? Did 100km gravel today, +-70% off road, and it was beautiful!
In my opinion no, I work in an outdoor store and tell customers the following. the difference between bikePACKING and bikeTOURING is not the surface you ride on or how long the journey takes. the difference is in the bike, when bikepacking you use the bike that you like to cycle on, an MTB, racing bike, enduro whatever. With Bike Touring you put the bike together so that you can cover as much distance as possible as comfortably as possible, often on asphalt, if possible. but bikepacking you will cycle MTB routes camping or go to a hostel if you want, in the end it is all bikepacking. the most important thing is to have fun, no matter what you call it!
Very cool, some interesting cards I want to use as well!
Depends on the Weather forecast of course, but when it's dry like it is at the moment I would say take the Pirelli cinturato H in 45mm they are amazing! I would love to ride the Ardennes arbalette this summer, maybe we can ride it together? 🚲
Flat bar, because I'm riding MTB, and want to ride MTB tracks while bikepacking 😉
What a great setup! I'm looking for the revelate designs spinelock seatbag, do you like it?
This setup is exactly what the Ortlieb gravel panniers are, the only difference is that the gravel panniers uses an other fabric
Struggling to Pick Panniers
