I think this may definitely be unpopular. Indy game developers don’t have the money to sustain themselves for a long period of time since they are small businesses. Releasing early access games is a way to sustain their business while creating the game. Without early access releases we may be limited to what large corporate developers want us to play. I have purchased early access games that have had their prices raised when they released version 1.0 as well, so it isn’t always paying full price for an unfinished product. Just because a game is in early access doesn’t mean that the game isn’t still fun to play. I have many games that I play in early access that even as are, were worth the money I spent on them. There is always the option of simply not buying a game in early access, if that is what you prefer.
