Majority of the modern pro tennis players started tennis (and frequently other sport) at 4-5 yo. 4-5yo is the golden standard with few exception like Kyrgios who started tennis very late at.10yo (but he was a developed basketball player).

Either you didn't meet talented kids or your approach is not working. Kids are different. Many kids can successfully start learning tennis at 4 and some will be able to maintain a top spin rally with red ball on a mini court at 5. Anyway, at this age (3-6) focus should be on developing athletic abilities (agility, coordination, balance) and tennis alone won't provide that - soccer, gymnastics, etc is a great foundation.

"Approaching" a 3.5 level means you are still 3.0. Asking 4.0 player to play with you is an insult for both him/her and to yourself. If you want to hit with strong player - hire a hitting partner.

I started to teach her when she was 4 or even little younger. 6 yo is still good. My advice is to focus on athletic development - agility, coordination, balance. There is a short window to develop those qualities. Tennis at that level does not provide that. Either do team sport - soccer, basketball , gymnastics or you will need a lot of personalized fitness (which is expensive and boring for most kids). For tennis - develop strong foundation with private training - unit turn, ball recognition, proper grip on serve. Group trainings are good to develop game understanding and more fun - but without foundation kids won’t get proper technique there.

very good advice. But change from the pure flat to slice - way more consistent and harder to return for recreational players.

This is also good serve for intermediate junior players (7-10 yo) - that’s how my 7yo daughter serve now (less slice on 1st, lot of slice spin in 2nd). Later i will move her to pinpoint and add more pronation. She is pretty advanced for her age (UTR 2.4) and will move to ATP style serve later. Modern WTA players should play as ATP players to be on top

Family of 2 adults and 1 kid. Ski days: 2. Budget : around 1500 = Airbnb (shared with other family), ski tickets + rental for wife and kid. Food, gas, etc. considered a good budget for Tahoe.

Having flat shots (not enough spin) is not the match or tactical problem. As you coach, he should now that from coaching sessions with You. I really doubt that you put a lot of spin in practice but play flat in the matches.

So he should either blame himself for bad coaching of you or don’t blame you for playing with whatever technique you have. Lot of people play with flat shots in 3.5/4.0 levels and have fun and beating opponents

You need a local orthodontist If you do braces. They need regular corrections, they can get loose, etc. For Invisalign , you can get a full set of retainers and just change them every week - if everyone goes well and for simpler cases. I’d go with local - usually they provide no interest payment plan.

depends on your play style. Lighter racket is more maneuverable and generate more power (not less as many think!) on top spin groundstrokes. Heavier racket is more stable and better for chip returns and volleys.

That’s true. In any specific game/set atp 500 can play (almost) indistinguishable from ATP 50. The difference is how they next set, next match and next tournament.

Gorgeous. Probably the best looking fashion photography among all female tennis players ever. And the worst was Caroline Wozniacki , she is a lovely woman in real life just has zero charisma in fashion photography.

She needs extra prize money to afford extra fabric for her outfits

He would win 10 GS with just a slight tennis rule change - when hitting jumping 1HBH (never mind in or out) - you win a game instantly.

Great progress in 7 month. On you FH you have good coil but need rotate your body way more on a swing - you finish with two shoulders facing the net which is not right. Your right should only should face the net at the end of swing. Also - don't jump on your swing, stay low, even push yourself to bend knee during the swing. Forget all videos with pros and wannabe coaches who shows going up on a swing. Pros can do it while maintaining a perfect balance - you can't do it (yet).

It does. But this song is an utter disaster and not a good example
