Why do people make such confidently incorrect statements? In Parker v. Brown, 317 U.S. 341 (1943), the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that, by virtue of the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution, the Sherman Antitrust Act did not apply to actions by a state including regulatory actions imposed by a state.

It depends on the context. A lot of states limit NDAs in employment agreements to a period of years. Most states don’t limit the terms of settlement agreements for lawsuits.

Um, you can in most states. They are fairly common in more controversial lawsuits like sexual assault too.

Not sure the state of Alabama is subject to antitrust laws. Don’t quote me on that but it feels right.

Actually your link states that Taylor Wines is owned by Constellation. It was started by a New York family, whereas Taylor and Fladgate is British.

That is not the same Taylor. Fladgate is proper port from Portugal and expensive af. Taylor Port from the Taylor Wine Company of New York is swill.

Tuscaloosa’s food scene has always been wretched to me.

The only place to get real choice food is Birmingham because there are actual local markets for good produce and meat beyond US Foods and Sysco.

I don’t think body size necessarily means anything re: pitch speed. Some of the fastest pitchers ever, like Bob Feller, were normal-sized dudes. It definitely gives you an edge to throw faster, but biomechanically I don’t think the edge is that high.

If he is half as good as Roger Clemens they won’t have to try all that hard.

Something like that, new in the box today, wouldn’t cost less than $100,000. Simply astonishing craftsmanship.

It creates an obscenely sticky substance when wet, especially with sunscreen.

Everyone needs to commit egregious sins against their ancestors at least once in a while. It’s a right of passage for every culture to make the old folks roll in their graves.

I can imagine it against the pitching he was facing prior to Walter Johnson.

Wish we would go back to stadiums like the Polo Grounds so there would be less homeruns and more small ball.

If you have a problem with Tony Gwynn, you have a problem with me. And I suggest you let that one marinate.

Brendon Urie can’t even sing his songs live.

Greg Maddux was a genius and I suspect the sum of his and Smoltz’s IQs is less than 200.

Ironically and horrifyingly he was the PA announcer for the Black Barons.
