In regional areas, you'll generally get a pub or 2 with locals open until at least 11 or 12. They will generally shut when the staff feels it's appropriate. This is the case all over to be honest. I come from a town of ~3-4k and this was the case in my 20s at least.

Look I can't be bothered getting in to a political argument at the moment.. but do you really think that the shadow government, who's focus is on boosting the private sector and less government intervention, would intervene like that? Because I sure as hell don't think so.

Point Moore in Geraldton and south Beach in Dongara are relatively calm. South Beach is good because it stays shallow for a while and easily accessible for any car

McCallum Park has pickup games basically every day if he's keen to play. Not sure how social they are as I haven't been for years.

Also, the FIFO camp probably has some social clubs/sports games that you can hint to him to check out.

You think it won't bother you, but it will eventually. I went from 45 to 20 per way and now I can't stand the long commute. It just ruins your day outside of work because you're just constantly driving. In my opinion at least

I leveled a warrior on cata to 18 and gave up. Also sticking with SoD only

Yes, the general population is dodgy and pretty bogan. You can usually just ignore the dodgy ones and the bogan ones are usually very nice anyway. I love the town and surroundings because of a few things: - The outdoor lifestyle is just so much better. Fishing, camping, surfing, sand dunes, 4wding, etc., etc.. Peoples' lives are generally focused around this lifestyle. - It takes maximum 10 minutes to get anywhere. Want to go see a friend? It's not an "event" in the day. You can just meet them at the beach, drop by their house, go for a coffee. It doesn't take time out of your day because of commuting. - The social networks are large enough that you don't know everyone, but there's only usually a few people between mutual friends. You can go down the street and bump in to people you know quite often, but not enough that it's a burden. - You wouldn't think it, but there's a LOT of good cafes there now. Restaurants, not as much, but still some good ones. There's a few outstanding bars as well - There's a lot of community events all year round focused on highlighting local businesses and this is, and hopefully always will be, a big thing in the town.

It really depends in your lifestyle but it's a very laidback and outdoor focused town for the most part. My only downsides are that there's very clear suburbs that you should avoid, it's mostly a blue collar town obviously, petty crime and drug use is pretty high and lastly..... The damn wind.... Some of my best mates are still up there which does sway my opinion a fair bit.

Used to live up there, moved down for uni in 2011 and now work full time here. If I could get a job with my degree I'd move back up in a heartbeat

It's because their mains power voltage is half of ours so it takes twice as long for water to boil in a kettle

He's an Aussie. There's no Chinese in his accent at all. Sydney (where he's from) is largely populated by Chinese migrants

Hey mate. I actually ended up putting it off and will be buying one later this year. Someone mentioned to get Linak actuators so I'll probably look at them.

Delissimo at the Swansea Street Markets in Vic Park is up there

Yeah it sucks. I just end up taking the coast or detour through parallel roads like mirrabooka av. It will be great when it's done but I wish they didn't rip out every tree along the fwy

You know it's currently fucked because they are building a new one right?

You can always try to channel the air with panelling however I don't think the bleeding is going to detriment the performance overall

Honestly this is the way to go. Blown away by the results

Trust me, you are. We are refinancing right now, my block+house has gone up 120k (18.75%) in 1 year and 3 months..

Yep, I got in here right before people started hauling in

You'll lose out with 20k over. A friend just lost out by 50k+ yesterday to 29 other offers in Balcatta

Perth is one of the major world hubs for oil and gas along with Houston, Aberdeen, Singapore, Rio and a few other cities

Last night southbound on Wanneroo Rd was filled with people driving 60 in the right hand lane.... Drives me up the wall
