man had such good fortune with Kevin McHale doing his old team a favor and Billy King’s generational incompetence.

and he thinks he can pull a fast one on everybody else as a result.

having to treat Klay like he isn’t a role-player for the last 2 years was definitely exhausting and at least you don’t have that with Hield. will miss all the times he destroyed the Rockets tho and that 50 piece against ATL was sweet.

remember a game where there was enough time for him to possibly break his record and we pulled him for understandable reasons, hope he doesn’t break it in Dallas or Steph beats him to it.

he’s getting paid the same as Naji Marshall and Aaron Wiggins is underpaid given he could easily get more playing time elsewhere.

Oubre probably could’ve gotten more money on a bad team but he’s done that act and likely figures he’ll get another deal after this given he’s a potential starter on a big market playoff contender.

Reath has a legit 3 ball and even though he’s not starter caliber by any means, I wish our scouts knew about him. Portland is actually pretty good at scouting role players and overseas talent, they just struggle with everything else.

Buddy Hield is a defensively limited but lights out movement shooter. gets considerably less shots than Klay and is consistently in the top 5 or so with made 3s per year. and he’s been repeatedly in trade discussions even with prolific volume totals for understandable reasons beyond box scores.

the last 25 or so games of last season are the first time Klay’s greenlight or rotation spots were ever in any doubt. this will be the first time he has to go into a season with the possibility that he might be benched on an off-night. ‘23 WCSF game 4 alone would make so many coaches pull their hair out and Kerr stood by him.

it was cool to see Oubre play well with Philly last year and I feel like there’s a legit chance at a 2011 Mavs run there.

if Philly lands PG-13 and McCain can contribute a bit, they’re in a good spot given they now have a legit backup for Embiid.

and there are several teams with top-heavy rosters that could plummet with an injury or two and create some openings in standings.

for backup PGs to pair with Podz, someone like Schroder or Tre Jones could be a decent bench table-setter.

the Clippers are actually in a decent position to at least be respectable and I do think we have a chance to be the same.

we could get some decent wing depth through a Klay S&T, new free agent options with money coming off the books or something from teams wanting PoA defense with GP2’s contract (love the guy, he’s just too injury prone and we need a true 1 alongside Podz.)

BBall reference still has him at 6’7 for whatever reason, guess that’s in shoes.

still got a massive wingspan that allows him to play as a combo-wing and his reputation is proven enough where our coaching staff hopefully can’t act like he’s too short to defend wings like they have with Moody.

I’ll be kinda salty next year if he goes to the Lakers I guess, but it’s not like he’s Vince Carter or anything. this stuff happens.

4 rings, 60 points on 11 dribbles, game 6 Klay, most 3s in a game. legend forever.

the main problem is that last year was first time outside the bubble year that AD and/or Bron haven’t missed time and some of the teams that were free wins for them last year are going to be better (like the Grizzlies.)

and even with them mostly healthy plus great scoring from their defensively limited guards, they were still a play-in team that lost to Denver in 5. and they got a new coach now. if AD or Bron miss a few weeks, they can easily slide into the 9/10 bracket or worse.

we haven’t had a true big-wing behind JoKu in a while and played way too many 3-guard lineups last year, all for picking him up. he can hoop.

whew those LA fans will be a nightmare whenever he runs into a slump.

not to mention Bron is pretty good at throwing people under the bus, if not quite Doc Rivers level.

they got Lauri from the Butler trade that included LaVine coming off an ACL tear. of course the whole path to get there was typical post-Jordan Bulls.

Thibs fired after a competitive second round loss to the Cavs where Pau Gasol got hurt after they went up 2-1. going into that year, they traded the rights to Nurkic and Gary Harris for Doug McDermott. Noah gets cooked and follows D-Rose to New York.

Butler’s diva arc begins and results in the trade that brings in LaVine and Lauri, mess ensues due to poor roster building and events like Portis punching a teammate. Hoiberg gets fired early in second year of LaVine experiment. Boylen gets another year and Lauri is turned into a role player.

Donovan brought in to get the team out of hell, WCJ gets traded for Vuc and Daniel Theis. Lauri moved to second unit and then traded the following off-season, DeRozan and Lonzo brought in.

agreed. Steph was hobbled the last month of the season and is still out there because it’s his last chance, feels like bad faith to deny Wiggins that same opportunity if he’s indeed able to play.

if the Wiggins olympics shenanigans was done in service of something less than a relatively sure thing, I feel weird about that even if it was time to move on. would rather not burn bridges on the way out.

fine with how the FO is handling the Klay situation tho. extension he rejected means the team would’ve paid him like 240 million over a 6 year span with nearly half being paid out while rehabbing. he bet on himself instead and played poorly with season on the line for 2nd year in a row.

they got nothing out of Ron Artest, Elton Brand, Tyson Chandler and traded LaMarcus Aldridge away on draft day.

D-Rose’s injuries happened. and even after that, they had Lauri but Boylen screwed that up. so they’ve had plenty of talent in the post-Jordan era, they just went back to what they were before Jordan.

the obstacle Draymond poses to winning is his actions, rather than his level of play. he remains a one-man defense and Bam/Gobert/AD ain’t walking through the door. that’s why they’re still putting up with him.

our spacing is best with Klay, but he’s also shot 3/29 in his last 2 elimination games, he’s dropped off defensively and rejected 2yrs/48m as far as I know.   so not surprised that he might be the first domino to fall.

I thought it comes down to if someone decides to offer a big deal for Hartenstein since the Knicks are limited in what they can give him. if he decides that he’s willing to effectively take a pay-cut to stay, Robinson gets moved.

if Hartenstein decides to go for the bag, I guess they maybe keep Robinson and try to find an improvement over Sims.

I liked Plumlee 2 years ago but he is unplayable now and Zeller looks the same. Theis should’ve been getting minutes with Clippers last year and I wonder if he becomes available, he would actually be a good fit.

I’m guessing the Knicks try to go for someone like Bitadze or Drummond if they can’t keep Hartenstein and I wonder how that affects our decision making if Looney gets thrown into a trade.

I doubt they’ll throw Post into the fire right away, but maybe he wows at summer league and they let him play like Dario if he were an actual 5. he seems to be a competent passer with legit range at least.

people sleeping on the Grimes move for Dallas. he can actually shoot above the break when he isn’t injured and I expect him to bounce back with a healthy off-season in an environment where he will get easy looks.

Donte is a better version of him so an already injured Grimes fell out of rotation and they missed a chance to sell high. at the same time, the eventual trade was how they got rid of Fournier’s salary which was the last thing holding them back.

I’m a Sengun skeptic, so I’m not surprised about those rumors.

want some trades please. Steph’s got a couple years of reliable all-star play left in him, one last ride. no sentimentality, get him that 5th before Bron.

there is evidence of Redick possibly not being of particularly noble character, like the “pretend you were in a committed relationship with me at the time in writing while I pay for your abortion” stuff.

he seems like a guy who goes to great lengths to curate a persona and while this is a he said/she said for time being, don’t think he’s a great guy. his whole thing is he proudly acts like a douche. gratuitously spouting f-bombs in introductory conferences, the know-it all schtick, his bickering with Doris on broadcasts.
