My friend and I are planning to do an overnight camp this weekend and want to hike in to a lake somewhere in the general 2-hr vicinity of Truckee (where I live). We're thinking areas South of Hogansville or North of Camp Spaulding. Looking for max 7-8 mile hike in. Recognizing there's still a lot of snow cover, anyone know of some good spots? Any recommendations appreciated.
Boca lake loop was in good shape last weekend but all north facing slopes still had substantial snow. Not too bad though if you hit that bit at the end and embrace the wet feet. Bring good shoes.
I have a reservation for a Tuesday (in November) but can't make it. I'd like to go later in the week. Anyone have any advice on seeing about trading the Tuesday for another day later that week?
Anyone know who sells (parts for) Fischer boots in the area? I picked up some Ranger boots and need a ridiculously niche washer replaced on the buckle. Fischer doesn't send parts to 'private customers' so I'm looking for a local dealer.
How much did this set up end up costing you? Where did you get the parts ? Thanks!
Hi everyone, it seems like it's been a few months since the last post on crossbars, so wanted to see if people have updated views on the crossbars compatible with 2024 Limited (no moonroof). Curious if any of these 2023 aftermarket models on Amazon have worked for people with a 2024 Limited.
They're both well reviewed, but don't advertise as being compatible with the 2024 model. Most people say that they fit, but the back bar only works in a limited area. How does that actually limit usability? I'm mainly planning on using the roof for skis, so I'm wondering if it's worth dishing out 2-3x as much for the Thule bars.
I'm new to all this, so any guidance is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Did you lose your PP benefits immediately? Lounge access was the main reason I got the card, but find it largely useless otherwise given other cards in wallet. I just got a new PP card for the year, so I'm curious if that benefit expires immediately or at some later date.
Will Truckee PD or the Sherriff be enforcing a closure?
Cool, thanks. I was confused bc Truckee River Rafting posted on FB saying they probably wouldn't open this year at all due to high water levels and the post kinda made it seem like the river would be closed to rafting in general. Sounds like this doesn't apply to people floating on their own.
Saw a post recently from a rafting company that the Truckee will be closed for the season. Can anyone confirm this? Will a basic float/tube be allowed?
Anyone have thoughts on how these fit compared to Everlane athletic fit jeans?
Hoping someone can help me figure out where to get this black hooded knit sweater worn by Jay (Finn Cole).
Epic recommendation. Thank you. Still very snowy and frozen up there - stream crossing is very challenging.
