Manure Stake.. lol
This couldn’t be truer… I was assumed and was told before getting out that “becuase I was military” and “I loaded cargo and flew” etc I would have zero issues getting hired once I get out. Boy that couldn’t have been further from the truth… lol
Such an incredible talent gone WAYYY to soon..
Live in Fresno.. Can confirm idiots live here... lol
Division III: Football's Finest
Ours does. And it is hilarious! Lol it makes it seem/sound so sassy lol
I wonder if they ever caught that acorn and brought it to the justice it deserves...? /s lol
That's fine.. if you want to hold one murderous LEO accountable, that's your prerogative. Here's what I believe is wrong with your view. Their are countless videos that have come out and that are constantly coming out showing first hand the abuse of power, the misuse of force, the blatant disrespect right to a citizens face when they are the people that are supposed to be deescalating the situation. These videos have shown and proven that there are ego driven, power hungry tyrants all over the country.
Now just making assumptions, if your department or office has a bad apple employee, I think it is safe to say that all of his/her co-workers would be very aware of that individual and what's gotten them that reputation. Now if that bad apple employee goes out and murders someone because of their own bad decisions, we've seen time and time again all these departments conduct an investigation 'internally'. Which we all know is damage control talk for we're going to sweep it under the rug so we can save face and then continue on with business as usual.
I think it's safe to say that the good apple LEOs would be very aware of what's going on in their own department. They see (along with the rest of the population) the department leadership actively making this 'bad situation' just go away.
Why in the hell wouldn't you hold the good apple cops accountable due to them knowing what is right and what is wrong, but not stepping up and challenging all of the blatant corruption. Those who stay quiet are just as guilty. They know wrongdoing is going on, yet they don't have a backbone to stand up and say anything. Their silence just got a person that they swore to "protect and serve" killed.
That's why I talk about this referring to the large majority if not all LEOs..
The irony is astounding..
You and me both man. I was a 130 load for 4.5 years and then a 17 load for 1.5 years. I’ve had some of my proudest and most memorable moments while wearing that flight suit. Seeing this makes me feel for him on a whole different level. This is heartbreaking..
I'm prior military so I have a small understanding (or more than the average person I like to think) of that split second scenario. I guess maybe that's where my confusion originates. When I took my oath, I knew what I was potentially getting into by signing my name on those documents and was 100% prepared to follow through with that promise I made. Knowing they're taught to value their own lives over all else, tells me they (speaking in generalities here) just regurgitate their oath to collect a pay check. But when the time comes to face those potentially sketchy situations, their leadership and trainers have actually trained all LEOs the mindset of "It's all about me and fuck everyone else".
I promise you that you and your disabled 7 year old were not the reason of making this post. Actually I’m glad that you all can utilize preboarding.
I assumed (and this is what I get for assuming) people would pick up on the sheer sarcasm.
Anywho.. blue skies and tailwinds
Ahhh man fucking limewire and KaZaa (forgot about that one). Definitely had them both at one point and time lol. I’m sure I saw them.. that time period was a real tv show blur for me. I was fully hooked on Jackass and all of their reruns that MTV would play. Lol
Hypothetically speaking here for a moment...
Say everything was exactly the same up until the moment the door opened and they could see each other. Lets just say Mr. Fortson thought he was being robbed, raised his gun, shot and killed the officer.... How does that one play out....? Would he technically be within his rights because he's protecting himself??
This is such a bull shit and completely unnecessary death... it's disgusting...
Sorry for the rant/vent, but it comes from a place of genuine curiosity and the want to educate myself.
in my life i've gotten pretty good at trying to play devils advocate and honestly looking at both sides of a story.. so I completely understand the split second dangers that LEOs can come upon in some situations. But one thing that I've never been able to find a good answer or explanation to is why is it that LEOs are trained to initially go to their firearm before, during and prior to whatever situation it may be. Again I understand the cases where a cop walks up to the driver side window for a speeding ticket and before they know it they're getting a magazine put in/at them... but I can't imagine that type of scenario is THAT common. A cop gets out of his vehicle and the first thing he/she does is start covering their firearm... why?? LEOs are supposed to deescalate conflicts, why aren't they trained right from the beginning to initially go for their taser? Is this 'firearm first' thinking so ingrained that everyone sees it as too challenging of a task to try and change the mindset of LEOs?
That one in phoenix absolutely breaks my heart (as does this one as well)... but what in the fuck man!?
fuck it... close enough lol give it enough time and his $20B will be accurate
I abosolutely love my REI Half Dome 2. It's light, extremely quick to setup, a little small but has two vestibules you can stake out to cover packs, gear, boots/shoes, whatever else. Mine is also sealed all the way around. I have hunkered down through a few rain storms in that thing and not even a single drop of rain got in. I give it an easy 10/10!
I tend to usually just order mine from a company in oregon. They come as chocolate bars, and one square is usually moooore than enough to get weird with. Eat two squares and I'm really flying lol
wowzers... This sounds painful. Like 'mandatory fun' type stuff..
Awwww Jupiter... The hero we need, but don't deserve....
Can confirm. Was a C-130 & C-17 Loadmaster in the USAF for 6 years. Some years ago, I did a presidential mission moving 2 of Obama's Limos, his big mobile command center (built out of a box truck type vehicle), 2 other suv vehicles, and like 30-35 of his secret service team. We were moving it from Andrews AFB to Eugene, OR (if I remember correctly), but President Obama was actually going down to Roseburg to speak at the community college that was sadly shot up.
We dropped all those cats and their equipment off and we bugged out Seattle for the night, which is actually where our mission ended and then we flew back commercial to Charleston AFB, SC.
Good times... lol
I was in the exact same boat as yourself… I didn’t go to the flight doc for anything because I was worried about going dnif and/or losing my flight status… so when I got out, I filed all my disability stuff that really had happened but couldn’t really back it up or prove it at all. I kinda screwed my self.
Side note… one thing I wish I would have done is I filed all my VA disability stuff myself, got my percentage letter, and that was that… I wish I would have had someone (such as the DAV or someone/thing similar) help me right from the beginning of my disability submission. They know how the paperwork and system all works, they know how to word everything…. Do yourself a huge solid and seek someone out to help you! I know the DAV offer their services for free too.
How can I be honest with the flight doc and not hurt my career?
