Can’t link, but I know someone who went to college with him, and they said he was a jerk who pulled unsafe pranks that he’d get away with bc he was the theater dept.’s golden boy.

I love your poodle too, what a cutie pie ❤️

OP, that couch/bed (?) looks like a nap on it would restore your health bar back to 100 if you were a video game character

Oh, that’s so interesting! I didn’t know there was a novella. Here's the score I'm talking about: https://yuseflateef.com/store/index.php?product/page/787/Another+Avenue+%28Opera%29

Where can I listen to Yusef Lateef's Another Avenue?

In 2011, Yusef Lateef published an opera called Another Avenue, and I was wondering if there were any recordings made of it. Google, Spotify, etc. have all failed me.

Unfortunately, yes. Source: My job involves extensive work with autistic people, and am autistic myself.

I don’t know why you’re getting pushback, I don't feel comfortable training AI either because I know the endgoal is making millions of people lose their jobs. The guilt I would feel isn't worth the money.

This is a very tactful response from Justice, not that Schneider deserves it. The implied message I got from this was that she wants to heal in private, and I hope everyone gives her the space to do so.

Drake vs. Kendrick twitter has been the most fun I’ve had on there in a while

I would worry that people would think I’m a scammer if I used this. I wouldn’t use it as a seller, amd frankly I wouldn’t buy from anyone who uses it either.

In December, Roy discovered a misconfigured cloud server on a North Korean IP address containing thousands of animation files. Included in the cache were animation cells, videos, and notes discussing the work, plus changes that needed to be made to ongoing projects. Some images appeared to be from an Amazon Prime Video superhero show and an upcoming Max (aka HBO Max) children’s anime.

The findings and security lapse—detailed in a report by the Stimson Center think tank's North Korea–focused 38 North Project, which helped analyze the findings along with Google-owned security firm Mandiant—provide a glimpse at how North Korea can use skilled IT and tech workers to raise funds for its heavily sanctioned regime. It also comes as US officials increasingly warn about North Korean IT workers infiltrating companies and their outsourcing.

Inside, the files contained editing comments and instructions in Chinese which were translated to Korean, the researchers write in their report. “For a lot of the animation files, we would find things like spreadsheets with details of the workflow,” Williams says. A sample of the files shared with WIRED show detailed anime images and video clips, with notes for the authors and date stamps on various files. In one instance, the report says, an animator was “asked to improve the shape of the character’s head.”

Based on the documents and drawings, the researchers were able to identify some of the shows and projects the North Koreans were working on. Some of the projects included work from season 3 of the Amazon show Invincible, which is produced by California-based Skybound Entertainment. There were also documents linked to Max and Cartoon Network show Iyanu: Child of Wonder, produced by YouNeek Studios, as well as files from a Japanese anime series and an animation studio in Japan.

"You won’t ever know the worst that happened to Nicole Brown Simpson in her marriage, because she is dead and cannot tell you. And if she were alive, remember, you wouldn’t believe her.

You heard Lorena Bobbitt, after John Wayne Bobbitt had been acquitted of marital rape. At her own trial for malicious wounding, she described beatings, anal rape, humiliation. She had been persistently injured, hit, choked by a husband who liked hurting her. John Wayne Bobbitt, after a brief tour as a misogynist-media star, beat up a new woman friend.

It is always the same. It happens to women as different as Nicole Simpson, Lorena Bobbitt—and me. The perpetrators are men as different as O.J. Simpson, John Wayne Bobbitt, and the former flower-child I am still too afraid to name."

"The race to lead A.I. has become a desperate hunt for the digital data needed to advance the technology. To obtain that data, tech companies including OpenAI, Google and Meta have cut corners, ignored corporate policies and debated bending the law, according to an examination by The New York Times.

At Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, managers, lawyers and engineers last year discussed buying the publishing house Simon & Schuster to procure long works, according to recordings of internal meetings obtained by The Times. They also conferred on gathering copyrighted data from across the internet, even if that meant facing lawsuits. Negotiating licenses with publishers, artists, musicians and the news industry would take too long, they said.

Like OpenAI, Google transcribed YouTube videos to harvest text for its A.I. models, five people with knowledge of the company’s practices said. That potentially violated the copyrights to the videos, which belong to their creators."

I think this petition is a good thing, and I’m a little frustrated (though unsurprised) that people are choosing to only focus on the most ‘problematic’ signatories instead of engaging with the substance of the petition
