looking for some to attend my roomie’s ceremony.
i love participating in normal reddit threads on r/poker such as this one

271 uber eats orders is crazy. the grocery store is cheaper.
close! multi-billion dollar corporations are actually nothing like women suffering from domestic abuse, though.
https://exhibitions.library.columbia.edu/exhibits/show/1968/protests columbia actually makes it really easy to do research on institutional history.
if you wanna convince yourself that jesus’ idea of self-defense included long-range cruise missiles then there’s nothing i nor this university can do to fix you.
these questions are irrelevant to the point i’m making here. i think it is ethically questionable and morally corrupt for a liberal, ecumenical, world-renowned school of theology to be directly invested into ANY traditional weapons manufacturers, regardless of manufacturer involvement in any specific conflicts in the world. i just don’t think it fits jesus’ vibe.
it’d be a fight to get that far. if cu/us institutions at large can commit to divesting from lockheed/raytheon/boeing i think many protestors would consider that a win. in the case of uts, it would only be fitting. after all, what are the ethical optics of a school of theology funding companies that make weapons at all?
i have. most notably, she never wished petty, lifelong discomfort on people who disagreed with her and told them “f you.” you’re the one engaging in bad faith here.
ETA: “‘Even if I disagree with this person,’ she says, ‘it doesn’t have to piss me off.’” … might be time for you to revisit this article.
apparently you respect me immensely, so i guess that’s enough!

the peace corps and the red cross have no presence in gaza.
it’s left-leaning. also, the cu college republicans are currently imploding due to an fake ballot election scandal (LOL) so i would either hold off on joining or take advantage of the chaos and insert yourself.
as a general rule, political discussions with willing participants in appropriate forums is fine. nobody can really cancel you here, despite what anyone says. they’ll engage you or dismiss you and talk about the crazy anti-abortion guy with their roommate when they get home. if that.
come with a perspective that values nuance (which is basically what you’ll hear at convocation and every other admin speech) and be open to conceding certain points and finding things to agree on.
tourism tends to refocus their economy towards exactly that— tourism. it kinda sucks that places rely on it because it’ll rarely develop the island in the natives’ favor and will usually implode if people can no longer visit. why work in a factory if tourism is right there and you can profit off of non-natives not knowing the exchange rate? because of this, whenever natural* disasters hit, destination islands with service-focused economies are devastated financially (*puerto rico after hurricane, maui after fire, most of central america due to state repression of protests…) because there are few other sources of income outside of people visiting. and then to boot, in order to recover they usually need outside support, which usually means non-native investment. this is how airbnb overtakes places and pushes natives out of popular cities and destinations. of course, van life disrupts part of this system by not taking up housing but it tilts the economy nonetheless.
that privilege. when the police approach you, you automatically have a reasonable expectation to not be profiled as a source of trouble. as a “middle class” individual, you also are highly unlikely to have lived in an over-policed community where cops are more likely to stop you for small infractions, like hanging out in groups after school.
tl;dr: you probably don’t have any negative experiences with cops to inform a fear of them. congratulations! the police protect and serve you (allegedly).
this is not the experience for most lower-income americans, regardless of race. obviously you can disagree but i’d say that your experience feeling safer with the cops is not normal/majority, but it certainly isn’t rare.
right again! wow, if rosen-metsch steps down i think i know the guy to fill her shoes.
precisely— you get it. don’t forget about the idf.
this does not absolve her of doing her job and communicating with the students she serves (many of whom are idf/american milvets… she’s got three armies behind her if you count nypd)
source is sidechat so i’d wait for someone from sipa to confirm but streets are in fact saying that she hasn’t emailed in a hot minute.
is that brick entirely interior? if not, won’t the epoxy just trap moisture and cause problems?
Pulled off paneling to reveal original brick… Now what?
