Recruiter said they’d call at 9 AM Tuesday. I’d read it as Thursday and replied confirmed 9 AM Thursday and blocked off that time on my calendar. Never got a calendar invite so never noticed my error. Missed the call on Tuesday. Emailed as soon as I realized it. Ghosted completely.
Who doesn’t send a calendar invite!!! This is a pretty innocent error on my part and clearly documented. They could’ve corrected me when they saw my reply a week ago.
This was for a senior role at a large public SaaS company. While I don’t think it’s entirely indicative of the entire company, the fact that recruiters are the first face of the company for many potential employees and they get to behave however they want (and it varies completely by recruiter) is so insane.
Ah right. People can’t be human when coordinating schedules. When clients tell me at a job they forgot about a meeting I should just tell them too bad we won’t do business with them again.
Sending a calendar invite is standard practice across 99% of Saas companies for any type of meeting. It’s lazy recruiting to not do that.
Ghosted after an innocent Tuesday/Thursday mixup.
