It depends on what you want out of the videographer and what you personally think is “worth it.”

I was pretty anti video. I hate most wedding videos - the slow motion, slide-showy, generic country love song playing (if you love that great!). And the thought of recording audio and ever wanting to listen to us speak or speeches makes me cringe. Again cool if that’s your thing, I’d only ever seen wedding videos like these before, I didn’t know there were other options.

Then I discovered our photographer did super-8 film and I had to have a video. I love it. It’s perfect. Lots of people on this sub have mentioned opting for a more cinematic/documentary style video.

Don’t get video just for the sake of it because everyone does it. But if you think you might want it, consider a few options and see what style appeals to you.

You mayyy be able to edit it online under the information needed section of your flight. But it’s prob easier to just call because their online interface sucks.

3 is the best cocktail option. But if the wedding is outside at all consider a lighter color. The style of 3 is a good starting point. Two is pretty generic and a little too bridesmaid-y, one just isn’t actually that pretty especially for the price of a macduggal. 4 is fine but nothing special.

Have you looked into just renting one set and talking to the venue/your planner about paying their team to reset the chairs?

I feel very strongly about wedding chairs. They can make or break photos in my opinion. The white chairs are always awful. The gold are fine for many weddings but if it doesn’t match the rest of your vibe, they’ll look off.

But $10k is really high. What’s causing the high fee? Mine were $12/chair (prob $16 a couple years later).

At the end of the day, your wedding your rules. But you’re making up absurd reasons here:

• she’s the only plus one - like somehow it would be ok if you knew her? That’s petty behavior.
• it looks more expensive than my dress

The above are your issues. If you’re realizing you don’t love what you’re planning to wear, solve it and look for something else but don’t blame guests for those feelings. Her dress is not a white dress. Your dress is. They’re both similar formality levels for a rehearsal dinner. No one, absolutely no one is going to mistake her for the bride at a rehearsal dinner that is being held in your honor. Everyone there knows you and your fiancé.

Again, you get to ultimately decide but you’re putting your own insecurities about your choice into looking for reasons to dislike her choice.

For that guest count, look up boutique hotels with 20-30 rooms where you can buy out the hotel. Tons of options in Palm Springs (Casa Cody, Sparrows), Malibu Surf Lodge.

I will note though that you’re going to struggle to find fully customizable menu and also a hotel. Hotels tend to be the least flexible on catering, even more so if you’re just a section of the hotel and they operate other restaurants for guests. In this case you’ll want to find a hotel that lets you bring in an outside catering.

Also don’t feel pressured to just wear white because it’s your bachelorette. Consider some pieces that you can wear again.
