I totally get this. I work alongside a tech who only wants to deal with the “gory” side of things. Nevermind the fact that the vast majority of our job involves talking to clients, restraining pets for exams, walking dogs, and packaging lab samples. I work 12 hrs a day at a general animal hospital (mostly seeing annual vax appts, v/d cases, and coughing dogs) and i’ll sometimes go a full 2 days without drawing blood from a patient. When i ask for help w/ a patient, this tech will say “if i don’t get to draw blood then i’m not interested”. Like wtf? Go be a phlebotomist if you just want to stab something all day long. This is the same tech who’ll take 10 mins to place a catheter for a euthanasia because they’re trembling so much.
This is exactly how i’d describe it! My psychiatrist rx’d it for anxiety and it works wonders in keeping my body calm even when my mind is still preoccupied by stress. It doesn’t make me completely zoned out and goopy the way benzos do. I can still get things done, just without the shaking and heart palpitations lol

I know it’s practically summertime (here in the U.S., at least), but I’ve been rewatching the series for the first time in years and I’ve found myself really enjoying all the holiday-themed episodes - especially the Christmas ones.
I’m watching S7 E7, “Season’s Beatings”, right now and I’m laughing my ass off. I totally forgot about this one and I’m practically dying watching it. The delivery of Terry’s “Oh, no, Greg! They broke the figurines!” line has to be one of my favorites of the whole series, so I’m definitely considering this to be one of my favorite Xmas episodes. I’ve loved pretty much all the other ones, too, like S6 E9, “Rapture’s Delight” (“He turned water into fiiiinneee”), and I’m curious what everyone thinks the best Christmas (or other holiday) episode is!
