A number of years ago I had a firing pin break when I dry fired it. When I inherited my Model 12 I bought a dummy round that has a hard rubber primer. When I put the gun away after cleaning I load it and pull the trigger to release the firing pin. Is there any reason to not do this?
So that the other players don’t hate him for hit & run. A player can do what they want but if he’s facing a number of the same faces it looks better to stay a bit after hitting his goal.
I started a new game. It is the best gun you can get until you get a better gun. Then you never use it again.
You checked to get some info/deception. Out of position I would have overbet the pot.
I've been playing in casinos since 1994. I have lost big pots when a player drew a single out and I have won a big pot when the only card that could help me was an inside straight flush draw. I once went an entire eight hour session without making a flush or straight after flopping four, including two open end straight flush draws. If you aren't holding the best possible hand and there is a better draw out there, the possibility exists that someone may draw at it, regardless of price or value.
I don't care what people have done in the past, what matters is what people may choose to do freely today. We used to light our homes using whale oil and use harvested trees for our primary source of energy. We don't use that today because there are better alternatives.
There doesn't have to be a law. The government can simply make any alternative unavailable or unaffordable. They don't have to make a law that a person has to eat bugs, they only have to make beef so expensive as to be out of anyone's budget.
The market economy is a great indicator of what works. We don't see bug based offerings in the grocery store today because it doesn't make sense. If it did, someone would be doing it.
If you aren’t holding the absolute nuts you have to factor into your play that literally any cards you haven’t seen are possible. It doesn’t matter if the person is playing -EV. You chose to go all in with less than the best possible hand. You were favored, but not a lock.
It isn’t the people on the right saying that to save the climate people should eat bugs, so, yes. If it was something people wanted to do it would be being done already.
Do you think game developers leave their politics at the door when they write a story?
Government is a necessary evil that is a drag on economic productivity. If anyone ever says they like their government they are either getting something unearned from it or using its monopoly on force to gain some kind of advantage over others.
My 15-year-old talks about making games all the time. Here’s the advice I gave him.
Start with a simple description of the gameplay. What are you doing? Describe the objective and the conditions for winning if there is an end. Once you know the conditions to win, describe the mechanics the player would use to achieve that goal. If you didn’t before, now is the time to create a narrative for why the main character is doing what it’s doing in the first place.
Practice by taking a few games that you’ve liked to play and go through this exercise. The game could be simple like “space invaders” or “Pong” or extremely complex like Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Ultima 7.
If it has a storyline, storyboard it like a movie.
Note: Udemy has a sale every year. I waited until the sale to buy it.
People in Alaska carry guns while fishing. The purpose of the gun is not for hunting.
I was responding specifically to the person who asked why a 14-year-old was being armed for defense.
There are people proposing an edible bug industry. I will eat chunks before I will eat bugs.
Edited to remove political reference.
As soon as I saw Chunks in the game and did the flavor side quest I just presumed Chunks are blocks of nutrient infused, flavored tofu.
You sound younger. I’m 53 and have been playing live poker since 1993. I have had enough flopped sets lose to draws that if I am early and flop a set I overbet the pot immediately. I want it obvious as possible I just flopped a monster. I may not win as much but I don’t suffer these kind of runouts any more.
Is this a reference to “Entangled?”
The course makes you enter code. I am half heartedly working on a game and will definitely have to code to complete it.
Spaghetti sauce. You left that part out.
I bought the Udemy Unity 3D Game Programming course when it was on sale and was pretty happy with it. You will have to write that code and will learn the process of doing it yourself. Unity is free to download.
My sister lives in Alaska adjacent to open wilderness. She has seen many large mammals wander through the back of their backyard. Even a cow moose will seriously mess you up if she feels threatened. Up there kids learn to responsibly handle a gun.
A couple of things. You were given a gift by getting all the music ahead of time. In high school and even four years in the Texas Longhorn Band we got music throughout the season. Start by looking through all the music and find the highest note. You will not need to play higher than that until next calendar year. Start working on the fight song and school song immediately. Also work on “The Star Spangled Banner.” Look for challenging sections and figure them out and work on them.
Practice every day. Try out for Region band.
Lastly, have fun. Performing John Williams’ music for 100K people at DKR Texas Memorial Stadium is one of the better experiences I have had in life. You don’t get to do it at that level until you do it in high school first.
Edit: playing high notes on trombone is overrated. The trombone’s strength is the solid sound from first partial Bb to fifth partial F. Arrangers write accordingly. Leave the wailing to the trumpets.
My favorite seats are 3 and 7. You are welcome to 9 if you want it. I can't see it being bad etiquette.
If you release your hand without saying call, it is a fold
It works for him. I have a very bad habit of playing longer than I should. Even if the game is good I lose my edge if I stay too long.
I have only had one losing session in the last 30 sessions. Up $9500 overall.
