Offline] [5e] [NYC] Seeking Players for regular Tuesday Night CampaignPlayer(s) wanted

Hello Dungeon Dwellers,

DETAILS:

Date: From May 7th 2024 - Oct 1st 2024

When: 6:30pm - 9:30pm

Where: Hex & Co. Upper East Side

STORY:

This campaign will be a classic 5e style game with very few teeny tiny quality of life homebrew mechanical elements (i.e. drinking a potion as a bonus action)

As it's my first campaign, I want to honor the DnD universe and the story will take place in the land of Faerûn in during "The Founding Time" in the year -7444 DR. This was a postwar age, where the humanoid races began founding new realms after thousands of years of elvish wars had fractured societies. I'm playfully naming the campaign: "Court of the Scavenger"

There will be many classic DnD adventures and tropes but also a focus on city building, and potentially too much about agriculture. (I'm sorry, I like... really dig crops?)

PLAYERS:

I'm looking for 3-4 players with any level of experience but are really committed to attendance and focusing on story telling and roleplay. I'd say 70% Roleplay, 30% combat, no need to min max abilities or anything like that. My only hard and fast rule will be that the characters you make will need to be of good or of neutral alignment - I just don't find a truly evil player character that compelling.

I'll set an arbitrary age limit of 22+

Rating: PG-13 - There will be some action movie level violence and adult themes, but no descriptions of gore and while unplanned any romance it's more fade to black, wink wink sitcom style. Your character can die, but I wouldn't expect them to.

Background about the DM:

Inspired by my love of BG3, I've recently gotten into DnD and started a few campaigns and one shots as a player these past few months and I have decided that I have just enough experience and content written to start my own campaign. Likely I'll make some mistakes!

I'm David[He/Him] a 33 year old, married, marketer/writer who doesn't take himself too seriously, and is often described as silly, and good natured. I have never really dabbled in the realm of fantasy writing and I've had a lot of fun working on characters and tales from the land of Faerûn, and I'm excited to share what I've got.

This is my first time running a campaign which is why I wanted to have only a few players, and set a clear end date, so I can learn about pacing, and experiment with some cool storytelling elements. If I really enjoy it, I'll consider running my next campaign with more homebrew elements and at a grander scale.

I think that’s valid for sure. We don’t want to remove our attacking threats in most situations. I just see so much space along the touchline with the way we play and really think there is a way to make it work where in the transition we go three at the back when our pacey wingback moves forward on the counter.

I trust Arteta and his four CB strategy of control, it just kills me seeing all that space and not even having a pace merchant on the bench to exploit it. (Besides martinelli who’s been playing abit weird lately but I’m sure will regain form)

I know this isn’t really how we play right now, but I wish we had more of a pacey wing back to open up space on the transition. I keep feeling like in the big games we keep getting stuck with a situation where the overlapping run from white or kiwior come so late that the opponents defense force them to go to the touchline before crossing

Can these potion dice be used as a bonus action?

Woah this is big. Learning this I’m now sure he has been faking his convictions and moralities for the past few decades in the public eye. There is no way he could not have known that this man he just met for the first time who he knew only in the context of a Ukrainian team was a Nazi! It’s clear he’s abandoned his heritage and spends the other four days where he is not on the daily show writing mien kampf too revenge of the joo

Sent a friend request, I’m in the upper east side and looking for a political campaign

Ive been thinking alot about what type of player we are missing that could compliment Rice’s unreal progressive carries and my mind keeps taking me back to someone like Partey being that perfect player, someone who can cover his run and play progressive passes. I don’t think the market has a better fit, but then this also feels sort of defensive assuming ESR, Havertz or Viera stake a claim on that LCM role.

This whole lineup making is too complicated for me. I don’t know how anyone can figure it out without trying a million things in practice

Something changed in him. He seems so afraid to just use his speed to push past defenses like he did last year
