You could pick a sleep and raw weapon, a support oriented weapon and damage, cut for tail, blunt for stun, etc. Being able to switch weapons allows for a lot more powerful tactics then just delaying sharpening. I honestly can't think of a setup (without it just being bad) that's less useful than getting 2 of the same weapon for just an extra sharpness bar.
I mean, then you have to sharpen twice after a while. That's probably the least useful way of using the second slot.

Yes and no. If aspects of a culture are purely personal you should be able to keep those parts and if people take offense, they can go pound sand. Some people get weirdly offended by someone voluntarily wearing a headscarf for example, but that doesn't mean the person wearing it needs to change.
A multi-cultural society can definitely work, but only if people aren't so butthurt all the time.
A more helpful way is sharing the good things about your culture. For example at the end of Ramadan, one of my muslim neighbours went around the neighbourhood giving people baklava she made herself. During Newyear, I baked Oliebollen for my German in-laws. Once my Indian coworker took me to a Holi celebration, which I can highly recommend.
