And Hochul wants to make sure her real constituents - drivers from Rockland and Westchester and NJ - continue to be rewarded. This way they're closer to Buffalo too.

It's going to be enforced on black and brown people, or anyone else the cops decide they don't like.

WFH, getting paid 1x, finishing up a cold.

Just a note that the one on 30th St just south of 36th Ave asks for only halal donations.

Check Euro Market for the cherries.. (or! It's sour cherry season right now which lasts about three minutes, and homemade cocktail cherries are awesome.)

I don't think I've seen Punt e Mes in Astoria. May have to be a special order or a Manhattan trip.

I've seen chairs at either Lot-Less or DII (Deals & Discounts.) not sure about the umbrellas.

Not up by Ditmars, but Between the Bagel absolutely will sell you a tub of cream cheese.

I got my Small Mystery Box from the dumpster the other day and am thrilled. I embraced the surprise, saying that my favorite artists are Superchunk, Elvis Costello, They Might Be Giants, Oscar Peterson, and Modern Jazz Quartet, and was very pleased to receive:

Thanks, Dumpster! Four records for $25 + shipping is a great deal.

The last record I got dropped last Friday, but I received it in the mail yesterday.

I first ran into David Nagler as the musical director for Wesley Stace's Cabinet of Wonders shows, which are awesome variety shows full of comedy, music, cover songs, readings, and all sorts of goodness. He also did the music for Wesley Stace's most recent album, Late Style. I've seen his band Tape Hiss (with Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth, Ernie Brooks from the Modern Lovers, and Peter Zummo from Arthur Russell) play at a festival in Queens, and he's a really good guy, an interesting songwriter, and a phenomenal musician.

His most recent band, As For the Future, is described as a "NYC-meets-Brazil musical collective." Their self-titled record is so new it's not in Discogs yet (will try to add it when I have a chance.) Here's "Koan for the Music Business."

I'd make your own - either use a Sodastream and pump it extra (and make sure the water is as cold as possible when you do it, so more CO2 can dissolve into it) or assemble your own carbonation rig which is more hassle but gives you lots of control.

Voted today at the Variety Boys & Girls Club. Zero wait, we were in and out in about three minutes, took the obligatory civic-duty selfie, grabbed a pen and a sticker. Always a pleasure.

She's awful. I have yelled at her a couple years ago when she waved a truck through the intersection which nearly hit me. She yelled back and was super aggressive. I complained to the precinct about her but never even got an acknowledgement.

You should! Look at how they lied for for Maro Yerelemou after she killed Xing Long Lin.

you still haven't detailed exactly what's false. With rhetorical and logical skills like these, I don't want you anywhere near a bench, ya troll.

did you NOT tweet what the Queens Eagle has quoted?

Venting a little: I was annoyed this afternoon because I went out to get my laundry and pick up some takeout, and saw two different drivers running red lights and going through active crosswalks where I had a walk signal.

The first was at the corner of 30th Ave and 30th Street, where I was crossing northbound. As I was about halfway across the street, an NYPD RMP rolled through the red light going west on 30th Ave. No lights or sirens, and there was a white-shirt in the backseat. I don't think the driver ever saw me, and I had to jump back a little to get out of the way.

Then, not ten minutes later, I was crossing 31st St westbound at 30th Drive. There was a car heading north on 31st St that was out in the middle of the intersection past the stop line but had stopped to wait for me and another person to cross. After I crossed with my laundry cart, that car rolled forward and out of the intersection...followed by a freakin' school bus which straight up ran the red light and continued through the intersection.

I know that the NYPD actively hates New Yorkers who don't drive, and I'm used to asshats driving aggressively and dangerously in our neighborhood, but I'm still disappointed that school buses and cop cars are among the vehicles people are using to break the law and put our community at risk.
