Hello fellow working moms! I was talking to a friend about this recently and she found it helpful so I thought I would share here too. For context, I’m a mom to 16 month old twins and also work full time as an engineer in a field that has 24/7 operations. It’s a great job but can have the tendency to bleed into personal time, whether just mentally or also with actual work. Any time I am “off the clock” and just doing stuff in my personal life, if I start thinking or talking about work I immediately shut the mental door in it by repeating “They get so much of my time. They don’t get this too. This is my time” and I just repeat it until I have shoved work thoughts out of my brain. I know it sounds simple but if I don’t do it, I can find myself prepping for work, making a task list, wondering if I did something correct etc etc all while I should be enjoying my limited free time or weekends. If you’re like me and have trouble leaving work at work, give this a try!

No plates here! Our high chairs have trays that pop off so I just wash those. The plate is always kind of a distraction honestly.
