Yeah that was so gross. All the comments he said were gross. The comment about Ellie sounded like they couldnt believe the girls were able to do anything else outside of cheerleading. Maybe it was editing but it have been better if he said they all have day jobs in various fields like dentistry, accounting etc and basically volunteer their time after work to do this as it's their passion or something.

Being a veteran doesnt automatically grant you special treatment if you cant outperform the rookies.
I take it to mean giving your body the proper nutrients and good quality food so you can perform at your best. Since these are a bunch of young girls, they were probably worried they will be eating junk food, unhealthy take out or just try to survive on salads/ not eat. So fuelling body means to actually eat proper food and not just eat anything.
There's also not enough annual leave to cover all the school holidays unless this coworker becomes a part time worker. So wfh really is their only option...or bring their kid to work.....
OP 's probably going to have a hard time at most places because surprise surprise, there are a lot of working primary care givers with wfh arrangements from work.
It also sounds like OP thinks their coworker isnt actually 'working' during the wfh time and if valid, this is something they need to raise with their manager instead of blaming the laws for trying to make working primary careers' lives easier when teachers get a break.

Totally agree. Her whole identity is locked into DCC and doing exactly what her mum has done. While I do feel for her about her mental health struggles, I can also understand why the other girls kept her at arms length. It's incredibly difficult to have to constantly reassure someone that is so insecure. It's so wild that she took a gap year, got therapy and thought yep Ill go right back to this craziness.
