You're missing my point. Pressing the button makes no legal difference to anyone at a pedestrian crossover. Cyclists cannot legally ride across regardless, and pedestrians have the right of way regardless. Your later comment that OP would have had to press the button to cross after dismounting is inaccurate. Everyone talking about the button is focusing on the wrong aspect of the law here.
To be clear, pedestrians have the right of way at pedestrian crossovers regardless of whether the signals are activated. The beg button is just an optional extra layer of safety. The only issue here is that OP didn't dismount before attempting to cross.
Yes, pedestrian crossovers are treated the same regardless of what they connect, MUT or otherwise. You are required to dismount at all pedestrian crossovers (and regular crosswalks) on the IHT, and vehicle traffic on the road doesn't have to yield to you otherwise. In a collision, you would be charged under the HTA if you were riding across. Some MUTs in the region have "crossrides" where you can ride across without dismounting, e.g. the Laurel Trail crossing on Erb St. Unfortunately the current law doesn't allow them to be installed at pedestrian crossovers, but the IHT in Kitchener has space allocated for them if the law is ever updated.
That said, the treatment you're getting in the video isn't exactly unusual even for pedestrians.
It was because the method they used for international order fulfillment from China became an issue due to Covid restrictions, so they just eliminated it completely. Objectively, it had a significant impact on their sales if you look at sequential order numbers, but as the topic says, they don't seem to care maximizing profits.
The current driver is significantly more efficient, but doesn't have any Li-ion support.
It's pretty normal for LP to walk the store with a cart and pretend to shop. Sounds like this dude is just bad at his job, or didn't care if he was conspicuous to OP's friend.
That was Julian Ichim's list of demands. The actual homeless people living in the encampment didn't give a shit about any of that stuff.
What happened to your WM3?
The Mk III lights just have the regular G5-style programming.
As in, it's rated at a low enough current it wouldn't give an output they would use run at spec?
The regular SFT-40 is speced at 8A in the datasheet, but the 2700K and 3000K CRI 95 version is downrated to only 4A. In reality they both far exceed these ratings, with the 3000K sweet spot around 9A. SFT-70 is speced at 7A at 6V, and I expect a similar downrating for CRI 95, though I'm not sure if it would impact the performance compared to a similar XHP50.3 HI at the kind of current Zebralight would typically use anyway.
A lot of people might not remember that 219B was essentially unavailable when Fireflies decided to use it in the original ROT66. It was discontinued by Nichia, the final group buy from Clemence had come and gone, and no other manufacturers were using it in new designs. Fireflies ordered a reel of sw45k, then everyone realized they could still be ordered from Nichia, which set off a bunch of interest from modders and manufacturers and led to a real renaissance for 219B and high CRI in general. Things would have looked very different in the several years before 519A was released otherwise.

Personally I would donate the alkalines and not let sunk cost fallacy dictate your purchasing decisions. They have poor performance compared to NiMH and Li-ion, and I wouldn't put them in any light I cared about due to potential leakage. If you must buy a dual fuel light for this, the D3AA isn't a bad choice since the firmware detects alkaline cells and lowers the performance accordingly.
Zebralight tends to follow manufacturer datasheet specs for max current, which is why they only use 519A in the AA lights, and released the SC65c HI rather than a 519A version of the SC64c LE. At 2.2A max, it would be fairly underwhelming for 18650, and the same goes for LEDs like 144A and B35 that are routinely overdriven in enthusiast lights to get reasonable output.
Historically, Zebralight had a policy of only selecting high CRI LEDs that were available in 2-step chromaticity binning, which is why they used the ugly XP-L2 in the original SC64c instead of a high CRI XHP35. This was their "official" reason for not previously using Nichia LEDs like 219B. They stopped following that policy with LH351D.
Cree XHP really is still top of class like you say, especially for conservative designs intended to be manufactured for many years. I do think they should consider using some of the newer Luminus LEDs, but considering how the 3000K SFT-40 is downrated in the datasheet, I'm not sure if it would help. What would be great is if they could work with their Cree rep to get the best possible tint bins so there isn't so much of a lottery when buying their lights. Especially the new CRI 95 variants.
Also, the H503 has been 519A for quite some time now, they just didn't update it with a new variant for whatever reason. Same with the H600Fw being XHP50.3 instead of XHP35.
Officially, they changed it because the SST-20 was too throwy. They also changed the optic to one that's a little more diffused. But there were many complaints about the excessively green tint of the Oclip even in the official Facebook groups. The P8 is pretty green too, but more normal Olight levels of puke green, rather than literally the worst LED I've ever measured.
Side note: The test samples of the Prowess had that SST-20 too, but they similarly changed it to P8 before production started.
Doesn't seem like there's going to be much activity in Southern Ontario based on the latest aurora forecasts.
Zebralight is a well-known flashlight brand I have a personal interest in. Unfortunately r/Zebralight was banned years ago due to being unmoderated. I would like to have it unbanned and replaced with a new community to discuss Zebralight flashlights. I am a mod of multiple other large subreddits and would be active in day-to-day moderating of r/Zebralight.
To you, with a century of hindsight, but clearly not to residents of Berlin in 1916.
It really wasn't as serious an issue as you describe for local residents in 1916. Even with the 118th Battalion literally blocking opposition from voting at the polls after a campaign of targeted violence against Germans, voter turnout was low, and the referendum barely passed. And barely anyone cared what name was chosen later.
The process of renaming Berlin was quite a farce. The referendum barely passed, and the name selection vote had under 20% turnout. Kitchener is literally 12 votes away from being called "Brock" instead. There was also a lot of violence involved compared to other similar name changes, e.g. multiple German social clubs ransacked. And moreover, Lord Kitchener was a monstrous piece of shit who shouldn't be memorialized like that.
But the distinction is mostly that you've always known both locations by a certain name, so it doesn't matter that one was already renamed for a stupid reason a while ago.
It's not a particularly shocking name for a punk band. They've been billed along with "Slutbomb", "The Jizz Sweats", "Rag Ripper", and so on.
The "free" municipal lots have a 2 hour limit, $3.25/hour thereafter.
OP says they understand they have to dismount when going from sidewalk to sidewalk, but are confused about the law specifically as it applies to MUTs. There is genuinely a lot of confusion about right of way at pedestrian crossings, and I think their question appears to be sincere.
What is the deal here?
