Worked in the last months at least 3 days a week until 11pm. Not always productive but I was missing context/depend on other people.

It’s a tough job an nobody will say thanks or celebrate. 

Jep, I saw roles where I fit 100percent (niche domain I work in) and I know for an onsite role in that small village close to where I live they won’t find anyone. Guess what ? Not even invited. It’s just pure BS at that point, either you know someone or don’t bother applying.

Was better a month ago - now it’s back to desert 🌵. Europe. Hoping for better time next year…

Currently in product but drained as well. Not that I don’t like the role - it’s mainly that in nearly all jobs I was treated as punching bag and delivery bitch with no access to customer and no ownership. So I am looking for a way out… haven’t found yet, constantly applying for jobs either sales, tech consulting or client facing project leader roles….

I am PM in AI right now … super interesting but I can’t keep up with it and the politics. Too much to handle for me

The idea of a mini drone is out there - but that technology is not there today. When I say mini it should be not bigger than a garmin device and work autonomously.

I was trying to go into presales but for the reasons mentioned I said no recently. My advice is pick a domain you like that is stable and stay there. I think government tech sounds like a good option. CRM is relatable with certain administration processes.

But did they really give that team full autonomy? We all know how slow Roche is - “I need to fill out this form to get access and it will take 2 weeks” is what I hear on a daily basis.

No he didn’t get the Group CEO title and now has to male more noise than the new Roche CEO. Roche never implemented that model - it was and still is a slow moving truck (I work daily with them)…

Nothing will change - apparently it is still most of the same heads. Everyone come down - they will fire many layers and want workers council on their sides that all there is…

Ok good PM can definitely come from a Tech even Tech PM background 100 percent agree. But the responsibilities need to be clear - I work the first time with engineering leading product. I rarely saw such a unvalidated product. Just PoC everywhere and no story and UX to shoot yourself…

And what are alternatives?

I did move from Head of PM -layoff. To senior PM but kept my salary. Still I feel I never grow - now staying 2-3 years in a risky startup is not great (I am 40 now).

I consider leaving the PM route but to where?!

Very very similar and I feel the same. As smart or smarter than many of my friends. I understand tech, business, lead teams, constantly learn, deal with uncertainty. Still in Senior Mngt position. I am tired and disillusioned from PM.

I am currently evaluating other options and clearly stating in interviews the desire to grow my career- no luck so far. Open to sales, delivery, consulting etc

Thought the same but in reality what you say is - we don’t need management and no sales peoples lets just build let engineers be superhumans and do everything without a problem or context switch etc.

How bad is it? I heard mixed stories. Some sales people hated it - constant pressure. Other from acquired companies said they still had a good culture. What would you say?

So you interviewed 3 and handed over 1 offer? What was more important for you: Deep tech knowledge, good sales experience or good cultural fit?

Oldschool VP need to get some layoff time and they will change very quickly. I know enough 50 year old that used to be VP Sr director and tell me they never thought finding a job was so difficult. I love our current time readjusting expectations for everyone:).

Job hopper here - got often rejected. Still did a decent career and doubled my salary.

As a beginner I totally forgot - weight 75kg and a board of 136. So ok I get it 15 is too large. Optimally I look for 12,13 or 14max.  Trying to understand if I run better with 12 (many used available) - take 13 (rare) or go 14 then I can go light wind.

Not so bad as many people state. Just build bridges as well. You won’t make everyone happy - I burned a bridge as my boss was a real ass. He would not recommend me but every other colleagues would. So build and not only burn (sometimes necessary - HR won’t step in eventhough he crossed lines)

Why not - most of us have been there. Don’t obsess about it.

We get multiple 100 of applicants with all Director and 5-10years tech PM experience for our single open position. It is crazy crazy crazy. 

Ok and is the rebel a good or bad choice? I found alot of affordable ones compared to the evo.
