It’s not that surprising tbh, the genre is an inherently complex one that takes time, trial & error, and constant improvement to get right. Even devil may cry on some level had to scale back the complexity in DMC 5, cause at some point having so much complexity in a game like that starts to become its detriment, perfect example being dmc 4, although it has its audience there are a sizable amount of people within and without the DMC fanbase that don’t jive with the combat due to how much time, and trial & error it takes to learn.
