An exhaustive list Tui. Thank you for the effort. I have read it and it just looks as though the govt is working directly against the best interests of most NZers. Why?. I presume the donor class is happy although a quick glance offshore shows that they are never satisfied. Enough is never enough.
If you say so Rick. Trump is such a miscreant. It shouldn't be left to chance. And don't forget Putin may still gave a card to play closer to election.
Most people who compost have their own view on what is good or not. I guess I'm a bit anal on this. I don't use cardboard because of the glue and I don't use newsprint because of the ink. I like animal manure and pay for it when necessary. Leaves are good. Seaweed is very good if you are near the coast. I keep cooked food out but the kitchen scraps have prolly seen the garden already. So they go back. If you are short on carbon just do your best to keep it aerated by frequent turning. You will be good. Enjoy
You are doing great. Something to tie those pallets together would help. Take the center one out. When you turn your compost you will just have to lift it over the wall. Why. A "U" shaped bin is ideal. You will prolly never have different aged piles. Just add and keep adding new stuff and forking from corner to corner. Keep it moist. Personally I run a shower head on my hose the entire time I turn my compost. Gets it really hot. You will have soil in no time. Have fun bro. Doing great
I have the same spouting. I have tried and failed to reclip those that somehow unclipped themselves. I disconnected the downpipe and went right back to the initial method of installing the stuff. The outside of it hangs on the end of the clips and is then folded under and clipped up. Personally I would clean that with a spray of bleach. After hosing it clean. Mine has been up there for over 30 years and it still looks mint. I clean it. I collect the water off my roof as I'm not on town supply.
Yeah. I can't help myself here. I don't understand why, but Golriz, I wish you all the best and regret, for you, the price you are continuing to pay.
Highly recommended. Fresh is best.
There doesn't seem to be a single thing that you do that I wouldn't consider best practice. It so surprising you are having an anaerobic problem. It's never happened to me. I suppose I do cheat. And always have I guess. Since I know I'm removing so much produce from the garden and my compost is the only source of fertilizer that I use. I gather all my materials and save them up. Then I go to the local riding school and collect a trailer or two of horse poo. That is what I layer my compost with. Imported horse manure. It's brilliant. Not everyone has this option available. Do you?
Well that sounds great. That's what is meant to happen. Do you mix the "finished" compost through the heap when you turn it. I would. This depends a bit on composition but when I turn my compost I have a hose with a spray nozzle on it and I wet it as much as possible through the whole turn. It pumps up the temperature really fast and high. You cannot put your hand in there and hold it in. So moisture is a double edge sword. Good luck with solving your anaerobic problem. ps I have put untreated sawdust in my pile. Spread as I would a heavy layer of salt on my food. I never see it again.
Wow. That's a surprise to me. Well done. I don't add newsprint or cardboard to my pile because of the glue/ink issues. The local duck shooting gun club had a practice range just out of town. It was only a few years before the milking cows got sick with lead poisoning. Now it's plastic shot only. Hmmmm.
It does emphasize how journalism has been gutted by social media. No Paul Holmes or John Campbell asking hard questions on a daily basis. Yes we have Jack Tame on Sunday but that alone is inadequate. Unfortunately Mr Tui I fear you are 100% correct. Do I expect a politician to be asked about it. We will see but no iscthe answer. Very devious and dishonest.
Bro get yourself a pitch fork. Turn it. I consider a pitchfork as essential as a bin. Even all greens will break down and be soil again.
Is this what happens when you put public assets into private hands. All dividends and no maintenance
Is this why he backs up lanslordism with 3 billion. A backhander
There were a lot of similarities between the way Peters campaigned and the way Trump does. "Take back our freedom" for example
Sorry mate. Thanks for your very informed comment. I doubt many people will appreciate my wish for trees to be removed from the ETS. I won't aggravate you any further :)
Thanks for the info. I live on a silt loam. I see how poor it is at bonding. My soil is highly leeched. I struggle to get past the fact that as soon as the vegetative cover is removed there is nothing to stop the soil rushing to the river with the rain. I agree that the rain was exceptional which caused all the slash to wash out as well. However we all know that every time it rains all the rivers turn a nice brown soupy colour. This is still the topsoil washing away. Even with intact pine growing. In fact it happens all over NZ and no one ever pays it any attention. Gone are most of our navigable rivers and hello to the ever increasing mangrove environment. My own unpopular opinion is if we can remove cows from the ETS then we should remove trees as well. At least the trees that investors will want to cut down in 20 years.
Lucky the govt got rid of the fair pay agreement. There is no way we want to give workers any rights. Like negotiating a fair pay.
NZ cops flood Australia causing headaches back home.
