Maybe some styles like this could keep it up but hide the grow out until it’s a bit longer and can be put into a higher bun/pony/braid?

I don’t know the answer but am commenting because I’m experiencing similar annoying layered growth and the dreaded bad wolf cut look after post-Covid hair loss last fall, and I want to be notified if anyone has suggestions!

Coleslaw mix, bag of shredded carrots, celery sticks

Yes, that’s the magic of it! It’s like keeping the battery charged instead of draining it all the way down!

Summer vegetarian go-to for me: pasta salads of various flavors: basic recipe = 1lb pasta plus beans, sauce, chopped veggies, cheese and/or nuts. I tend to use canned beans even though dried are cheaper, because time.

“Mexican” with black beans, corn, salsa, shredded cheddar Jack cheese, chopped carrots/jicama/celery

“Italian” with Italian salad dressing, chickpeas or cannellini beans, olives or capers, chopped peppers (roasted in a jar or fresh), shredded mozzarella, celery

“Greek” with olives, feta cheese, fava beans, chopped cucumber, Greek salad dressing

“Asian” with ginger sesame dressing or peanut butter mixed w soy sauce as dressing, edamame and/or tofu, chopped Napa cabbage/carrots, sesame seeds or chopped peanuts/cashews/almonds

Those are great goals, you can do it!

Thank you for the encouragement!

Un🦆ed 2 storage chests

Yesterday, I went through our linens chest and threw away some very ratty sheets/duvet covers, and we are donating 5 very nice but unnecessary towels, which made room for me to store our down comforter away for the summer.

Today, I vacuum storage bagged all our winter woolens so they all fit into our cedar chest, freeing up space in our coat closet aka my sewing area.

In the past, I would have tried to do both these things and even more in one day, then get burnt out and stop midway through. Now I know I can only do so much in a single day, and that is ok!

When I listen to my limits, I am able to get more done.

Bought mine at a thrift shop in nyc for ~$75, it had been electrified and some treadle parts removed, but was still in the cabinet. I bought a flywheel and treadle pedal from sellers on eBay, a new rubber belt from an Amish sewing supplier and restored it to treadle power! I probably spent $125 total on it, and it sews like a dream.

Looks like 1/2 inch wide organza ribbon pulled taut.

Are you using a walking foot? That may reduce the need for stabilizer.

It looks like the center part is lacing with organza ribbon.

Less time spent accumulating stuff = more time to take care of the stuff I already have (ie mending clothes, cleaning my home and car, taking care of my plants). Plus, less clutter = less anxiety!

I went in January 2023. Two stores were my faves:

-And Leather (sometimes spelled Andorezza) has beautiful made in Japan leather tools-insanely expensive for me to buy Japanese leather tools in the US, but totally reasonably prices in Japan!

-Satoh Bin has beautiful made in Japan cotton prints. I bought some lovely ones to make gifts for people.

Vogue 1004 fitting shell has worked well for me.

The color is stunning on you!

That sounds delish, I’m going to try it with lemon!

I use it like sour cream. Mix with salsa for a high protein dip. Add ranch powder to make ranch dip.

If it’s an outdoor water park, and you don’t mind looking a little dorky, would you feel comfortable wearing a swim hat? They are designed to stay on in the water. I wear one for extra sun protection when boogie boarding/swimming at the beach and it stays on well even if I get rolled by a wave. And then maybe a headband wig for the time when you aren’t in the water or wearing the hat?

And possums..possums loooove my strawberries (also in socal). Had to cover the bed w chicken wire so I could finally get some for myself.
