Yeah good point. Another question: does it come with batteries? And what rechargeable batteries/usb charger do you use and how long does it take?

Ooof you are using SAR data? the example i found was for MS. Not entirely sure what the process for classification of a SAR image is im afraid. Sorry

Thanks for the input and recommendation, while those options sound lovely they are out of budget i'm afraid. Thanks anyway :)

Makes sense! thanks for your input. I think I'm gonna go with the etrex 22x and save some money for a ultra light sleeping bag :)

Hey, This is very possible, and GEE makes it fairly simple. As long as you know what is rainfed and what is irrigated you can to a supervised classification. However, you are better off following an example. Have a look at this supervised classification I found on the internet: https://code.earthengine.google.com/e91b20a453dc998992ebd0bd51de9541

Sorry to hear that! Thanks for the honest review.

Thanks for the recommend. I think for the price that I can get it at 150€, it’s a good deal. Do you find that the bike mount works well enough? I’ve seen some complaints. I hate when stuff shakes on a nice techy decent so the gps flying off every time I get going would also be frustrating?

cycle gps helpBike Tech and Kit

Hello all,

I am starting to take bikepacking more seriously. i.e going on multiple 3day+ solo trips and have found that my (dumb) smartphone (iphone 8) is just no cutting it.... It cant handle a single drop of water and battery last like 35 seconds. That being said i'm in the market for a cycle computer. I am planning on doing Altravesur solo... its approx 30days in the spanish mountains, so need something tough, rugged, long battery life (ideally rechargeable although battery is fine.... just wasteful), with good basemaps (im a GIS nerd, so it needs to not just be a line im following). I do not care about performance metrics, although seeing speed and distance and climbs is nice, but not a deal beraker.

Anyone know of any fairly priced computers that do the job? The internet algorithim pointed me to the Garmin Etrex 32x? is that bikepacking approved?

AtravesurRoute Discussion

Hello everybody!

I am wanting to the to the Altravesur, but not sure which bike will be best for the job. Choices are a Cotic hardtail (solaris max) or a locally made steel gravel bike. I think they would both fare well and is simply a preference of having a more comfortable ride (hardtail) or a more fast/challening ride (steel gravel bike).. fast on the flats and challenging on the techy singletrack.

So my question is the following... Has anyone done it recently and thought... holy shit i should\ve brought my hardtail bike or vise versa?

thanks in advance

25M, looking to to the Logan Watt’s Altravesur in southern Spain in mid September, with possibility of extending to Andalusia. Total 1-2 months trip. Lots of elevation, free camping, single track and jamon.

Jari 1.1 for longhaul bikepacking?

Hey folks,

I found a near mint secondhand fuji jari 1.1 2021 (aluminum frame carbon fork) upgraded to carbon wheels and from 2x11 to a 1x11 (40t) grx for 1650 in my local area. I am planning to do some more long haul bikepacking, potentially a hybrid set up with paniers in the back, but not sure if the jari can handle heavier loads. Ive heard it fairs well with lightweight pack set ups but wondering what happens if I bring more than 10-12 kg of gear. Anyone got any knowledge on the matter?

I think colour offset is due to the relative motion of the plane and the offest with b/w is because it has been pan-sharpened and therefore needs to be co-regestired again to the original (ms) image.

Enstilar travellinghelp

I recently made a post about the use of Enstilar and most people seemed to back it. I have now been applying it for two weeks and have seen crazy good results. My dermo says to now apply every other day for a couple weeks, and to not go cold turkey with it. BUT, im going on holiday this evening and dont want to ship my bag cause its just a backpack but need to take my 278ml Enstilar with me. Has anyone tried to put Enstilar foam in a smaller container to travel with? does it hold? can I do this? HELP! flight leaves in 5 hrs!

Much love friends

Thanks! Yh my dermatologist was saying its been very popular recently.

Enstillar Foammedications

Hello Friends!

Has anyone here used Enstillar Foam? I just got it prescribed and was curious as to what this community thinks. Not a massive fan of topical steroids but this flare up is quite pesky.

nvrm i sorted it out

Hello friends

I am doing some self-lead learning on GEE, on this episode I am trying to do some Sent-1 change detection for a recent landslide in Peru. (I'm still a beginner). This is my first go at SAR, and i'm not having a fun time... but i'm stubborn and want to finish. I am having trouble with the filtering. I would like to have a before and after image, and I would like both to be filtered for only the VV and VH polarization. I have used some code online, but obviously it came up with a million red flags.

I am receiving an error at var before 2 - error: "cannot read property of 'listContains' of undefined". I had a look in the docs and i don't really understand what .listContains is doing.

Any tips or suggestions for how to effectively filter for polarization would be greatly appreciated

much appreciate

ERDAS SAW vs. ENVI

Hey,

Im relatively new to EO and am working on a Hyperspectral atmospheric correction project and am undecided on whether i should use ENVI or ERDAS. I am more familiar with ERDAS' SAW as have had some learning experience with it. Was wondering if anyone with relevant experience could briefly highlight the pros and cons of each for me?

much appreciate
