I take Xanax as needed and another benzo called Restoril for sleep along with Hydroxyzine (strong benadryl). Sometimes I have back spasms and take a muscle relaxer too, and I still cant fall asleep in less than an hour or stay asleep more than 2 hrs at a time.

This know it all attitude wont get you far in this field. Ive been in the field over 20 years and have met many adults/kids with autism.
I would never tell anyone they had to eat cauliflour, and if someone stimming was inappropriate for whatever reason, they need to learn to do it privately. Autism is not an excuse. I can do this or I am like this because I have autism.... Neurodivergent individuals can learn and grow beyond the lines that AUTISM may confine them in.
You are a parent, I get it. Youve never met somone who will only eat one brand of chicken nuggets, on the same chair, cooked in the same microwave, at home only. Wont eat anything in any other location or any other foods period. If you dont find that to be an issue, then good for you. Blame it on autism. If this kids parents do see it as an issue, then its worth looking at. If a child is so picky that they are not hitting growth milestones, thats an issue.
Like I said, you have experience with one individual whos stimming obviously doesnt bother anyone and has some food preferences. Great. Other people have extreme issues and we do need to address them. Thats literally what we do.

You shouldnt be placing demands before rapport is built. Also, look into assent behaviors. You just need to be super interesting and do stuff he wants to come to you to play with. JUST PLAY. Use food if necessary. If nothing else, take ABC data.
Is he bored??? Take him out for a run/walk twice a day. Make him tired. Do NOT allow him to bite you at all... you say NO TEETH and put their lip inside their own teeth so when they try to bite they bite themselves.
Am I missing something??? Unrestricted hours are hours you can just do by yourself... reading, learning, programming, you dont need to be supervised the whole time. Just read some research.
