I would have bought the pass regardless. This game is amazing and I want lots lots lots more content. Juice those pass numbers so we can get 6-7 seasons or more for this game. Hopefully we can get 5-6 characters next year too!
Hey thatās fantastic - Iām sure youāll have a great time! The FGC is overall a very welcoming community, Iām sure theyāll treat you right. You might get some weird looks from boomers on your way to the venue (I know I did, LOL), but those people donāt matter. Just enjoy yourself and relax - everyone is there to enjoy fighting games together and cosplayers make the weekend even more special! Take lots of pictures and make some great memories!

Also the same kind of player to pick Karen in SFV purely because hitting people with the guffaw after her lvl 3 was the greatest.
Shoto characters such as Ryu, Ken, and Luke will be your best bet. Characters like these are well rounded and generally have tools to deal with nearly everything your opponents will throw at you.
However, donāt feel pressured to play these because theyāre āgood starter charactersā. Youāre going to have the best results if you pick a character that you think is cool or has a move/moves that make you go āoh I wanna hit people THAT!ā
You canāt really make a wrong choice when picking a character - at worst, you might pick someone with a slightly more convoluted game plan or somewhat limited defensive/offensive options. Just try out some different characters and pick one that jives with you. You can always switch characters later on!

Iām the token token guy - but Iām also the ācheat big Timmy creatures outā with commanders like Kaalia, Satoru, and Atla - the last lets me do both at the same time!
[[Jinnie Fay, Jetmirās Second]] - I love naya tokens and sheās such a strong payoff to have sitting in the command zone. Being able to turn your 1/1s into 2/2s with haste or 3/1s with vigilance is such a powerful option to have available for only 3 mana! And she works for non-creature tokens as well so turning clues into dogs or maps into cats is crazy value!!
On top of that, my favourite card is [[Divine Visitation]]. On the rare occasions theyāre both on the battlefield, it sure feels great turning some treasures into 4/4 angels!
