as a person whos been making my AU for years, THIS IS SO REAL WTF.

The lore i made when i was younger doesn't make sense and has 0 timeline. So I fixed it, but its still pretty hard to completely polish off because old chunks of the story has been deleted so I have to make new ones, some character arks have been completely rewritten and that kinda messes up some events that used to be there, and aahhhh its just so complicated lmao.

Its essentially like drawing, however without the joy yk Some parts look wonky, you erase them, the new drawn in part doesn't connect to the rest of it, so you try to rework the whole drawing only to end up crying in the corner. But hey i love drawing and I love AUs so the stress is worth it haha

well, making an au is completly up to you.

Its essentially making a story, and if you don't have passion for it and are only making an au because the others are doing it, you arent going to make a good one, or have fun doing it.

As a person who's been in the AU thing for 4 years at this point, I can say i have relative expertise in making one, and I can tell you that you have to have real passion for au making.

For me and most AU makers, we make them because we find it fun, and its a way of releasing your creativity. We post and make funny things about our AU because we love them and we would love to share it with other people because it makes us happy.

But AU making is not always smooth sailing. You will face writers block, you will lose motivation, you will be frustrated because you cant churn out any new content, and sometimes you feel like giving up entirely on the AU itself. And some people stop, because they truly have lost interest: it no longer brings joy to them, and that's okay. But most of us carry on. Eventually, you'll get inspired and start enjoying your AU again.

If you really enjoy making an AU, then go all for it. Its a wonderful experience and it can even be a comfort in trying times. Ive grown with my characters, I've realized my faults in them, and I love talking about them. But if youre only doing it because others are, I don't recommend it.

Its okay if you don't have an AU, you can still enjoy fnaf and you can still enjoy gacha: I've seen youre designs, their quite beautiful.

All in all, making an au isn't about the funny posts or the nice stories that people get to see, that's just the side products of AU making. You should strive to make an AU for you and your enjoyment, not for others.
