You may forget us but we will never forget you. Thank you.

I wouldn't sell low on him this off season mainly because I still think he's a guy who can score 30 and be the perfect middle 6 winger. If you have to sell him at the deadline you're going to do well. That said if Buffalo offered a 2nd and Krebs now I would do that.

If Buffalo wanted to get this done I would say this years second and a.sweetener. Every Flames fan would want something like Vancouvers first, Mang and some sweetener in exchange for Buffalo's first this year.

I'd be fine with no more NMCs but we just got a first and a good prospect for a goalie that was on the back half of his UFA deal. It's not like we did bad here.

Basically no chance Calgary regrets this deal. A good chance New Jersey regrets it. What people expected is beyond me.

They have advertising people that never watch hockey. They don't understand rivalries and how good it is to watch the team you don't like lose. If they embraced that I may actually go into BP's and get a pizza.

Whoever said Alberta was at risk of a drought this year never accounted for the Oilers fans tears.

Anything Zadorov did wrong he entirely redeemed himself yesterday. He was a great player for us most wanted to write off the moment he got here. And maybe we got a worse return for him, but he's right where Flames fans need him to be.

I'd rather the top pick go to the Eastern Conference, with the lone acceptation being I don't want NJ jumping us.

And they all either have no real audience (outside each other) or have corporate jobs where they get an audience due to who they work for. It's why Chiclets has been able to be so successful strictly from a grassroots model - they're a breath of fresh air in an intolerable journalist/influencer pool of hockey reporters who want to make watching hockey about them.

It's not part time or anything close to it. Your travelling alone may be as much as a part time job.

Pelletier and Coronato have had the chance to earn a spot similar to Zary and Pospisil, and neither have. Too many have been eager to gift these guys top 6 roles but they have to earn it, and neither have yet.

That said I agree with the rest. I think we have to come to terms with the fact that Vladar likely plays for the Wranglers. I don't think other teams are looking to pick up a guy who is 3x the league minimum and can never play over .900 goaltending. There are as good if not better goalies available for minimum contracts most years, Big Save Dave as an example this year.

No walk down 104/103/105 for warm ups. Can do 112/113 from the main concourse for the other side. Easy to do. No way to see a morning skate I believe (correct me if I am wrong) and you'll likely see Harvey touring the concourse pre game and during it.

Tij Iginla seems like round two of Brady Tkachuk and I worry we won't have the opportunity to get him. He is having one of the best years of any draft eligible player and has an amazing pedigree that fits right in with our team. Everything about him on ice fits what this team needs, and he could be a generational goal scorer.

Partially because I don't want to get hurt I am not getting my hopes up about him. That said, I think there are a number of great players at the top end of this draft.

All that said I think we could get a good player in the mid twenties with Vancouver's pick, and if we have 3 second rounders we could look to move up too.

Not only that but we had borders closed for the second half of covid when internationally they were opening up. Not letting Gaudreau see his dad or families come visit - even when they vaccinated and were testing - I think left quite the legacy for players north of the border.

He sucks as does the rest of the Oilers roster minus 5 guys. I would have done it just to spite the Oilers, but Lavoie is hot garbage.

Best case: we win the cup and lift it up. Everyone dances to the song.

Worst case: We finish last and still lose the draft lottery. Toronto and Edmonton play in the cup final.

The cap is set to grow by $10M over the next two years alone, and there's other expiring contracts opening up around $20M in that time. Easy to do. And that "what if" is pretty unlikely, and you could always use "what if" to never sign a guy. The only candidate that could do that, an RFA a that's a UFA in the next couple years is Ruzicka or Kylington. Even if one of those guys break out they'll be far, far less consistent players than Lindholm.

Again, we're not talking about a marginal player and we're tight to the cap. We have room, and Lindholm is likely the best centre we've had in 25 years.

Handcuffs from what, though? Signing a UFA who will not be as good as Lindholm? Taking on a bad contract for a draft pick that has a 20% chance of making the league Little you can do with $9M in cap room that's better than signing the best centre we've had in 20+ years.

Because Lindholm is so good at defence, a 200 foot game, playmaking and playing both the wing and centre I'm fine with 8 years. I'd take that over the 8x11M we were offering Johnny last off-season. Lindholm would be a year older than Backlund this year on the last year of that deal, and Backlund is currently playing some of his best hockey. If he's willing to sign do it and let's all crush dome beers when it happens.

Yeah, no. Players sit while developing and we’ve seen it work. Gaudreau sat and watched some games. As did Tkachuk. As did Mangiapane. And those guys were not going 9 games with 1 secondary assist and bad defensive play. Players don’t develop like it’s a PlayStation game no matter how much our fans seem to think they will.

Duehr I don’t get but I understand he’s been battling an injury. Hope it’s that. Glad to see Pelletier out. He’s been getting every opportunity in the world and just can’t produce. Let him watch a game and develop and let Ruzica get in.

No he has 11:25, and it’s trending down. He hasn’t had 16:30 since his first year in Edmonton. Honestly, I’m beginning to think we just have a mentally challenged fan base when it comes to coping with bad team play.

Why are people commenting this? He doesn’t. Looch averages 11 minutes a game, and it’s been down closer to 8 over the last 15 games. And of course Huberdeau is getting less time on ice, he’s on pace to break the record for largest point drop in back to back games. And that said he’s 90 seconds a game away from where he was two seasons ago.

Honestly, I love this team and obsess with it way too much, but at the end of the day we might just not have the brightest fan base.
