I recently had a teacher who said it's not good for advanced ballet dancers to take tap because it weakens the ankles. She even had a (now professional) student who loved tap but quit because he wanted to be stronger in ballet. Do pre-pro ballet dancers really have to avoid tap?
Literally my entire (first) senior year

That's how it was for my family too. We tested a bunch of different churches without it being noticed that we were gone. I eventually deconverted completely, but my parents have landed on a church that seems pretty decent in terms of bigotry and conspiracy theories at least.
It was definitely the last nail in the coffin for my family. Really, when they were holding in-person services, but the people who wanted to social distance had to sit in another room and watch the sermon on a TV. My parents were still watching online but were so pissed when they found out they wouldn't even be allowed in the sanctuary if they wanted to go back (safely). Also, the online church group chat really brought out the conspiracy theorists we didn't know were there π
"It's been over a year Γ nd you're just now checking in? Hmm, it's almost like you never really cared to begin with."
His "Hey There, Delilah" parody lives in my head rent free π Also the bit about how ridiculous it is to paint Noah's Ark murals in a baby's room. "Come paint some screaming people on this rock! And maybe some drowning animals!"
Omg Blimey Cow! I used to LOVE these videos when I was in middle school. Haven't watched them since, but just some of the things I remember make me cringe. Like that "triggered" thing they'd do in their skits with the word dramatically shaking across the screen π Or the running joke that playing Minecraft counts as school
The cotton candy clip strips are such a stupid design lol. But that legitimately sucks that your SM criticizes you like that. Sorry you have to put up with it. /g
I "trained" someone on the register like 2 months in to the job lol. Honestly, if you run out of stuff to do just ask. But usually, they'll tell you when you get there what they want you doing, and in between customers just work on whatever side project they gave you.
Agreed. It probably also depends on what store you work at and what the people are like, but I've been a cashier the past 9 months and it's been a pretty sweet gig for what it is.
How do you know this is bait when it's like the most normal thing for a far-right parent of a far-left child (a common occurrence) to say?? π
I see you did not consider what I said before reiterating your point π Also, even the best "team players" complain about work. Maybe not to you, but I promise they do.
I get snarky but let's be real, I've asked the same questions to people in legit uniforms because I don't know how to initiate an interaction where I need their help π«£
"No I just like throwing away all these boxes for fun."
As someone with food sensitivities, this situation sucks, but I hope your son knows that he can do better. There are people out there (however few and far between) who respect food restrictions and care enough to go the extra mile. It may take a while, but don't stop looking for those people! Last I heard, you're not supposed to bring snacks unless you "have enough for everyone." It wouldn't have been difficult for the person providing the snack to get him something else (a candy bar or something?), but I'm also not surprised that stuff like this happens. Providing allergy-friendly alternatives to sweets doesn't need to be as expensive as people assume it is. It just takes some extra thought.
Why did I think you meant hand-held and was trying to think how huge and intricate a fan could possibly be to cost $19?? π€¦
It wasn't letting me login on my phone yesterday but I tried on my laptop and it worked
"Gender is just basic biology? Well religion is just basic anthropology, so get with the program, JEFF!"
Alternatively, "how did you manage to educate yourself enough to stop believing in God but not enough to know that trans people are real?"
"Who cares about cisgender being the "natural state" of humans? So is polytheism but you don't seem to have a problem going against nature then."
Idk if any of these are good, but it's kind of hard to clap back when someone believes something not even rooted in their own worldview π
Just because you apply somewhere else doesn't mean they'll hire you. Also, it's fairly easy to climb the ladder at DT compared to other retail establishments, so staying might be useful for transferring to a better store in the future.
Lol fantastic response. Unfortunately, I was MOD and in the process of calling my SM a little too late. Also, I'm 19 and DT is my first job, so. . .yeah. An ILearn detailing how thieves manipulate you would have been nice tho.
I had no idea gift cards can't be bought with credit/debit cards. As far as I know, they're still doing it at my store. π€· But yeah, I'm still learning the obvious unfortunately, and my tendency to see the best in people has screwed me over more than once now.
Basically, a customer brought in a fake card to buy a $400 gift card. The card said you needed to press "cash" then enter the cash amount, then press another button I couldn't find. I did the first two, and while looking for the other button, he kept telling me "I think you need to hit enter. Here let me look at it. Yeah, I think it's this one," and he HIT. ENTER. Then of course he ran away with an activated gift card. The fraud hotline says they can't deactivate it but won't say why. Now I'm "suspended indefinitely" but my manager says they're most likely going to fire me once they review the case (even though she's fought for me because she doesn't want me to go).
I promise you she's the best π Maybe just misinformed on a few things. She's like the sweetest person on earth and prioritizes her students physical and mental health. She's fostering a really healthy ballet culture which is reflected in all the now-professionals she's trained. Sorry I just had to defend my amazing teacher (who just happens to maybe believe a dance myth). π
Is tap dance bad for the ankles?
