Moved into our first home in Colorado and looking to get a system to cool our house. We currently have a 13 y/o single-stage Goodman furnace in reasonable condition, but got an interesting quote to replace the furnace and add a heat-pump. Quotes include 40 ft of line-set-hide for an 80 ft condensor line run to the back of the garage. Here are the specs for 3 of our quotes:
Lennox- DLSC XP21 Series heat pump + Merit, 96% AFUE Upflow/Horizontal Gas Furnace, 2 Stage, Variable Speed for $17k
or
Lennox Elite EL17XP1 Series heat pump + Merit, 96% AFUE Upflow/Horizontal Gas Furnace, single stage for $15.25k
or
Lennox Elite EL17XP1 Series heat pump alone with our current single-stage Goodman for $11.9k
They all carry a 2-year warranty with the installer and have various warranty coverages on parts through Lennox based on what series it belongs to (Merit is the lowest, Elite is middle, and Signature is the highest).
I think we'd have about $2-3k worth of rebates coming back to us that's not included in those quotes.
We are unsure of the condition of the current furnace, though it seems to be working well. That being said, we are leaning towards the first option ($17k) to just ensure that everything is streamlined and opt to go for 2-stage heat-pump and furnace. We also have a quote for a regular AC to sit on top of the current furnace for $11k from 2 different companies, but we thought heat-pump was the smart way to go.
Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!
