Practice practice practice! Youll get there, man!

Thanks for the mention Brightscape!

Nah, i used more recent pics; from killers of the flower moon and celeb photos. I didnt age him as much, though but i was more inspired by his generally longer hair/ beard from recent times. https://rare.us/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2021/04/Robert-De-Niro-and-Leonardo-DiCaprio.jpg

I did did sculpt him without the beard as well, you can check my artstation for those pics: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/29AJyK

Hey TOPTM! I did a walk through video of my previous sculpt, i show the process and sculpting techniques etc. if you're interested in the process... As for references they can only take you so far; what im doing with all these portrait sculpts is using and improving my anatomy knowledge.

So its not refs that get you to this level its the understanding of the elements that make up the head; ive drawn thousands of skulls and have done hundreds of portrait sketches so yeah, it all adds up... I have tutorials of that as well, haha

Yeah zbrush for the actual sculpting and i used Blender to render it

If its well composed it could still look good... haha.

Thanks for the comment, mate!

Yeah i think he did good enough, haha

Zbrush to sculpt it and Blender for the renders... But you could also sculpt this in Blender if you wanted; Blender is free BTW

Its Probably the Trump stuff but yeah im not too clued up on celeb politics unless its something obviously major

Haha, fair enough dude. But after watching killers of the flower moon i really wanted to do a few of the characters there as i really dug their emotion and facial expressions... I dont care too much about the people i sculpt nor do i try to be too political about my subjects but the references of robert there were too juicy not to practice...

P.S. My subjects will never be dictated by the all-too-easy-to-sway public. I pick them based on what i see and feel and if that happens to be a clown or a dragon then im doing it regardless. But thanks for the reply; this is what art is about!

Clay buildup and dam standard mainly + move and smooth as well. Did a tutorial here if you want a full break down: https://youtu.be/PGs7GHKMR1M

Getting some more Portrait studies in! This time with De niro! I also decided to go a little more crazy with the hair; wanted to get those studies in as well. And yeah, i think it was a pretty good attempt! Added some very basic colour to frame the face and also call attention to the center of the face; nothing crazy, though.

Sculpted in ZBrush, rendered in Blender.
Total sculpt time ~32hrs.

Checkout my other sculpts, tutorials and videos on my profile!

I did a quick run through of my process here if you are interested: https://youtu.be/Thv3rKomQDU

Oh DAmn! Thanks dude! The one time i dont double check...
