The media are incredibly biased against Verstappen and Leclerc. Max wasn’t clean but I am not sure why people are acting like he was the only one driving recklessly? Lando was literally sending it every lap into T3 with zero control of the car, locking up and constantly going off the track. Yet it’s only Max that the media blames?

If we go back to Monza 23 last year, Sainz was moving even more egrigiously under braking when Leclerc was trying to overtake him. He even forced Leclerc off at Della Roggia. Yet somehow it’s Charles who was painted in the wrong there for being “too aggressive”. Charles wasn’t even half as reckless as Lando was.

Now it’s a similar situation, except Max is in Sainz’s position, and Max is getting heavy criticism for doing the same thing as Sainz, whereas Sainz had zero criticism, and Charles was scrutinized for it instead.

I guess when you are a superior driver to the opponent, the media will be against you.

That’s pretty much been the story of Charles’ career. No results on his best tracks, mostly not his own fault.

Silverstone is one of his best tracks, but he doesn’t have a win there. Same with Baku, Singapore, COTA, and until this year, Monaco too.

Yet somehow, he has a grand slam at one of his worse tracks at Australia lol.

Have you watched Charles battle Max at all?

IMO, and I might be biased, Charles has the best left foot in F1. He can brake so late and somehow not lock up or miss the apex. Which is why we see so many amazing Leclerc divebombs that don’t result in him locking up/missing the corner, like Norris last week. Charles is also amazing at hanging his car around the outside.

Charles racecraft is superb, I wish Ferrari gave him a more consistent car so he can showcase it more.

Yeah over a whole season Max is still the more consistent and less error prone driver, but if there is a driver that can take it to Max, it’s Charles (and LH of course).

It’s crazy how people on this sub have been coddling Max the last 24 hours, somehow making it seem like Max is this victim who is being unfairly treated by the media. They’re going to the other extreme to defend him.

It’s okay to admit he made a mistake, and that he made questionable defense moves, given his history. It doesn’t take away how good he is.

I do agree that Lando wasn’t a saint himself, and nothing he did was “brilliant”, but just because he was quite reckless himself doesn’t justify Max’s defensive moves.

I’m just glad both Lando and Max are getting heat. One is incredibly overrated and the other has historically been a dirty driver.

Oscar to me seems to be the better talent between the two, but Lando has the experience and is obviously the more polished driver at the moment.

Piastri still has a long way to go with his tyre management, but with his talent, he’ll get there with experience as well.
