It can, and has, caused many issues, even slightly. It has enforced a lifelong paranoia for me when changing the games resolution settings and everything else because of some bad experiences I’ve had in the past with it applying oddly or causing odd graphical artifacts when swapping resolutions during play.
So now out of pure habit and safety I just apply my settings, save, quit, relaunch the game no matter the game. Can’t trust windows, gpu drivers, the game, other stuff to not behave incorrectly when changing the damn settings

I’ll trust you but not him. But seriously cleaning house seems to be effective towards getting change in a major way for large companies. They needed and still need to simplify Unity. Case in prime point is the extremely confusing mess with their render pipelines. And input systems. And 2D tools. And UI systems. Gotta love how they seem to coexist all at the same time because it’d break old plugins and games if they were to upgrade and… not update their code to use new ways of doing things. What a mess.
