The capital-A Agile-industrial complex is, for the most part, a betrayal of the original intent of agile software development (i.e. https://agilemanifesto.org/principles.html). But even the bastardized version of agile is better than what it replaced, so I'm not sure what the alternative is.
The premise of the leadership principles is that *everyone* is a leader. It's not meant to say "your management chain is right a lot," it's meant to say "if you work at Amazon you should be right, a lot." (Of course, whether the leadership principles are adhered to is hit or miss based on team, but the whole idea behind them is that they apply to everyone at the company.)
